Hi guys, long time lurker but this is my first post. I noticed a spot of what appears to be missing clear coat on my roof. I attached a picture but it has this weird sepia tone, I can take more with an actual camera if needed. I plan to do some light paint correction to remove the swirls, I have a flex 3401 on order, but I am a novice to polishing. What precautions should I take? Should I avoid using anything other than a light polish like M205 on the roof? Or Just tape it off and avoid even polishing the panel. Hood and trunk were repainted less than a year ago, panels seem to be fine. Thanks for your advice guys!

It is a bit difficult to see the picture. Does your fingernail catch on the edge? It appears to be a large chip?

Sorry, I'll take a better picture in a few minutes. Yes my nail does catch on the edge I actually stupidly chipped away the bubble with my fingernail to do that, it was just a raised opaque section on the paint before this.

Yes, that would be clearcoat failure of some sort. If you chipped away all the opaque clearcoat, then you can probably use touchup clearcoat to repair the area. The sooner the better in this case.

Was this the only spot on the panel? Has it ever been repainted?

Yes this was the only spot, the panel has never been repainted. Any idea where I could find the touchup clear?
