Clearcoat!!!

Looks funky...doesn't look like you burned through. Looks like some sort of damage or clearcoat failure. The pic is blurry or something so I can't really tell though. Usually if you burn through, you just go through in a little spot. That's pretty significant.

First cloud reflection shot I've seen in the garage! Whatever that is it doesn't look like you went thru the clear...what shape was the etch that you were trying to get out?

I think many are confused about "burning" through clear - While a DA may create very minimal heat..... an aggressive pad with aggressive compound can easily cut through a thin clear without the induction of heat. Seems like common sense if you think about it on a microscopic level.

Not clouds you are seeing, you are seeing the reflection of the ceiling in the hood.

That was a joke. I can see the stucco on your ceiling. I"m talking about your "burn through", unless that is one flaky picture, that's not burned through clearcoat. Was that the shape of the etch you were trying to get out?
