Coated my tires today and WOW,

How do your windows look now? When I used that stuff it left over spray spots all over my truck including the windows which created a blinding glare in the sun. After a few weeks my tires had a rainbow effect as well.

This is not a spray. Its applied with a sponge applicator. There seems to be a lot of confusion between the two different products tw offers.

This isn't a spray, it's a coating, you apply it with an applicator pad so no overspray.
I know of the product your referring to.

It seems that way.
I think the coating kit I used just came out, in fact only two weeks ago I saw it for the first time.
The spray I've seen before.

Both are TW products.

Oh nice. I will say the initial application of the TW spay gave me the shine I like to see on tires. What I didn't like was when it got old it got this rainbow effect like oil on water. Does this one have the same chemical make up? I'd be willing to give it a shot next time I need tire shine.

This is the product I believe he applied:

TURTLE WAX® JET BLACK? BLACK ENDURA-SHINE TIRE COAT KIT

It is not a spray. I have prepped my tires and will apply the same thing tomorrow. I did 4 coats of tire cleaner and scrubbed them clean. Last coat of cleaner produced nothing but white suds. Would have applied the product today but it was a bit on the cool side.

The coating used in the post "Turtle Wax Tire Coat Warning" is specifically called out by the thread starter here in post 16 of the thread:

As of right now I'm not sure, in a short time I'll give a full review of it, hopefully no "Rainbow" effect:)
It is tinted, black which really makes your tires dark, even if they are very faded.

After the tires were cured I took a white towel, sprayed a little water on it then rub it over the tires and the towel remained white, it told me the tires were clean and dry:)

That's it, this is what I posted on another thread, I even took all of the contents out of the box to show it was not a "spray"

Thanks for the link, maybe that will put an end to the confusion:)

Like I said earlier, the cleaner that comes with the kit will remove the coating , just using an APC won't touch it:dblthumb2:
Make sure to wear the provided gloves because you'll need gasoline to remove it from your hands. Lol

One thing about this kit that seems clear, its not as "finicky" as Tuff Stuff, remember all that cleaning upon cleaning upon clean that had to be done and some still couldn't get it to stick!

I like how TW is pluggin' away in the 21st century, first it was their rinseless wash (which seems to have gone away for whatever reason) and now this tire coating which seems to be doing the job...all for $11.00, just gotta buy the right kit, no aerosol is the key. I wonder if Turtle Wax is working on a paint coating, LOL!

It just goes to show that even 'on the shelf' products hit the mark every now and then, and save you money.

You're right....

Even though I have my DP Rinse-Less Wash, P-40 I still use my TWRW I bought a few months back, it was BOGO and I cleaned out the shelf, in two stores. Lol.
Works well for me so I made a great bargain.

I mix one 32oz bottle of TWRW to a gallon of water, makes for a good DS
I tweeted it some, I added 2oz of the P-40 to my TW mixture ,what it did for me was added a little more wax to it and works as a drying aid, I find it easier than ever to use the TWRW now. :dblthumb2:

I still see the TWRW in stores.
TW to come out with a paint coating?
I wouldn't be surprised, it seems they have changed their way of thinking at the TW headquarters these days:dblthumb2:

They have a long way to go when it comes to their waxes though, just sayin:)
Another product I like of there's is their Bug and Tar Remover, just melts away the tar that get's on my wheels from time to time.
Saves me money.

Before I knew anything about paint care I would use Finish 2001 which at the time worked really well for me. I still use their Ice Spray Wax at times. It makes my paint look good IMO. I don't care if it is not a top shelf product.

I ended up picking up a box while I was at autozone. It was $15. Of course things cost a little more out here in CA.

I washed each tire 4 times using the turtle wax cleaner. I then washed the car and hit them with soap. I put 3 coats of the endura-coat on each tire. Overall, very happy. The coating did get on my wheels and dried instantly. Its tough to get the rubber around the wheel lip. I will say the cleaner on a micro took the coating right off the wheel instantly. I also noticed the applicator starting to shed bits of foam towards the end of my process.

Tires look better than ever, so now we will see how they hold up and look as time goes by.

Isn't there a thread about the TW Tire coating being a PIA in the long run?
I am curious to see how this product will hold up.

As i have anticipated for the Meguiar Ultimate BTC to actually work as it advertised, however that crap can't last for 3 weeks even.

I have been tuf shining my truck tires, currently on my last one but i have been experiencing unevenness and bubbles on my 3rd tire. Which is really starting to frustrate me. I took each and every wheel off my truck to clean and coat individually. Using a foam cotton swab applicator thing to get into all the crevice on these BFG A/T.

I am unsure how i will top more tuf shine on them later on without removing the whole damn thing.

PS: Okay so apparently Turtle Wax have 2 tire coating product.
1 that is in a can spray on.
And the one OP use that is to be applied on using applicator.

Interesting but i haven't see this product anywhere locally yet.

Yes, how long will it last?
That's what I want to know, hoping at least 2 months, heck if I get two months I'd be very happy:dblthumb2:

I love my Meguiar's Hyper Dressing, sure it doesn't last ling but it's so easy to apply but not having to dress my tires for a couple would be helpful in the hot summer months.

Man, i never thought i would purchase another TW product.
But i might just buy a kit and try it on my gf's car lol
