Coated my tires today and WOW,

I haven't even tried the applicator provided with the TW kit. I just use the one I have from the Tuf Shine kit.

I love the TW coating. I just wish I didn't have to parallel park my car when I go to work and can only park on the street. I'm always curbing the tires and rubbing off the coating.

That's an easy fix, get better at parallel parking;)

Btw if your not going to use the provided applicator maybe pay it forward to the guy who wore his out, just sayin'. Mine is getting old but I keep using it, afterall its got a good base of the TW tire coating soaked into it, it may be dry but its there nonetheless:thumbup:

Just shy of a month and a coworker finally asked me if I put tire shine on everyday. I love this stuff.

Without a doubt, this is the best post here for this product! Turtle Wax should use it in their ad, oh wait, they don't have an ad for the greatest tire product on the market:dunno:

Well I jumped on the bandwagon today and purchased this kit. One common thread here is that the tire cleaner in the kit is weak. I'll be doing it this weekend so there's no time to order online a better tire cleaner. All I've got with me is Optimum Power Clean. Will this APC and the kit cleaner be enough to clean the tire? Any OTC tire cleaner recommendation? If it helps any, the dressing on my tires has always been Optimum Tire Gel, no other.

Surely there's better tire cleaners out there but I found it work just fine but its not going to out perform Optimum Power Clean or "Alien Kleen" as its been known to be called. Its not going to hurt to spray, agitate and dry and the evaluate the tires look.

Welcome to the club:thumbup:

will also give a mention to TW trim restorer. as much as I hate to say it, it was on sale for $4, so I bought some. have used it on chevy truck bumper tops, Cherokee plastic bottoms, and other places. its actually really good looking considering the price. will def buy more.

The mothers back to black tire renew has been good under this product as the cleaner for another OTC product

Have any of you used the tire coating on black plastics?

My tires look great after doing it two weeks ago....

Or do I NEED the trim one for plastic trim?

I purchased the trim version also and to be honest looks like the only difference is the applicator pad. Product looks to be the same.

Advance Auto is having a sale now so I got it for around $11

Did you happen to notice if the tire coating was also on sale? I used the TW tire coating on my work van mirrors and they came out great and lasted a long time. The van needs an engine so I haven't seen it in a while but when it comes back and its cleaned up, I'll post a pic as it was applied back on July 10th.

I did it for giggles a few months ago, after cleaning the holders.

I believe all Turtle Wax products are on sale, 25% off

18 days now and still going strong….. thats awesome considering I live out in the Desert on unpaved roads.

The first Kit I bought was at Autozone, and cost me around $19.

Today I found it at WallyWorld for $14 :)

so i went ahead and bought two more boxes just to have some extra….will be doing my girls and my Mom's cars next.

Great product!

Good call Shadow!

Couldn't find *any* car washing or detailing supplies at Wally today, and didn't have time to hit the Bullseye or any Peppy Boys or Automobile Zones.

But I did get Proline sponges at Lowe's!

Looks great. Was it effective?

I guess yes. My holders hold keys, the garage door remote and change. I just happened to glance down on a sunny day leaving work and noticed the blackness. Had a little chuckle about it.

That is about all I would do in my car. Maybe the radio trim but nothing with a large surface like the dash. I would use it on my windshield cowl if Gummi Pflege wasn't doing such a great job.

I have a feel for it on plastic after using it on my wheel wells. I would think on bigger panels there would be a problem getting it to look even.
