Coated my tires today and WOW,

Okay. So today marked the four month anniversary of applying. The tires had a satin/gloss look still, and they were dusty. This coating is great!

I just did a strip and reapply. (Next time I won't be stripping! Ugh.) a They look great and I still have probably 3/4 of a bottle left after now doing a total of 12 tires.

So here is what I have to say about the tires, in direct, bright sunlight...the typical autogeeker could see a slight brownish if you are really looking. Could that be from me not cleaning the tires enough initially? Probably.

TL;DR great coating, takes a long time to apply, lasts even longer :P

One bottle last a very long time being so little is needed.
I bought two bottles at the time I started this thread and still have half of a bottle left.

A quick top tip:

If you have a screw on cap that flips open with your thumb, best way I can describe it, use it on the bottle of TW tire coating. I found the original one to clog up too easily, so that cured that👍

Do you guys that have used this think that it can be sprayable? I just purchased some nitto trail grappler tires for my truck and the sidewall design is crazy with all the lugs. Would be impossible to thoroughly coat with the applicator

It is very thin liquid so it seems plausible. Maybe with an airbrush, not a trigger job. It is tinted black and you need to mask everything as if you were painting the tire. I am actually considering trying this during a wheels off cleaning.

I tried the TW Trim Restorer.
Another "WOW" for me.
Was pleasantly surprised as to how well it worked.

So any idea if the TW trim restorer is the same product as the TW tire coat just labeled differently?

They seem very similar.

Thanks in advance!

Don't have an air gun. Thinking a fine mist sprayer and a paint brush to level it out

I don't a very recent pic but after my last wash the tires are still "just black" as in they have that new tire look, no Browning at all. The sheen has been gone for a while and I haven't chosen to reapply because of the temps I've got down in the garage. Once I take off my winter tires I will reapply several coats of TW tire coating on them and wrap them in tire bags.

As much as I love the TW tire coating and I really do, trust me, I'll be using my unopened DP tire coating kit on the upcoming 3 season tires for my car. I have enough to go on from last year when I had the TW on my original 3 season tires so the test will be on!

I will have a thread for the DP tire coating by itself but will continue to use TW on my wife's tires come spring.

Or use a brush to apply it instead of a sponge.

Sorry about the lighting as it's down in the underground garage but here's my tire after drying them after a Bleache-White cleaning and DUB wheel cleaner cleaning.

Although there's no more sheen they look like a set of brand new tires when you first get them. Just to reset the story, applied 3x's back in the 3rd week of Nov when I got them. After going through some rain it appeared the TW either wore off of, what I think, got soaked into the tire. I say this because a week after that I applied 1 more coat and what you see is how it's held up this winter. No snow in Dec but we got our but kicked in Jan and Feb, snow, salt and a lot of cold...especially the later!

I will re-apply before they get put away for the year. I expect even better perf the next time because the coating will be applied when it's warmer outside compared to the barely 55 when I applied it initially.

You can try a fist mist on the sidewall tread area. If you plan to fish with the applicator. This product looks better with 2-3 thin coats because it dries to flexible solid. You may want to do one tire to see how it turns out. The other option is using a foam paint brush. I bought a bag of them on the cheap and use them as disposable dressing applicators.

FWIW mine was done in December and still looks great. Like Klasse Act said, the shinyness (yeah we'll just say that is a word) has dissipated a little but the tires still have a clean, deep black look with a little sheen. Kind of like standard dressing after a few days. The tires also clean easy with a wash mitt and car wash shampoo.

The lack of Browning is really a story here👍

Yeah I dont want too much sheen. I like the deep matte/satin color.

I really like how the tires look after 3-4 wks even. During the summer and fall I would apply 1 coat and because of the base that was already laid down, its all you really needed IMO😎

I had Black Pearl on my tire before but it got scrapped off by my tire brush it was a pita to strip off but it looked great when I had it on

About an hour after I posted the last pic but I'm outside with this shot.

I joined the party this weekend after picking up a kit at my local big-box store.

I wasn't sure how I'd like the product, so I used my daughter's daily driver as a test bed. Following a quick cleaning of the tires and two coats of the sealant, I really liked the results. I'm not a fan of the greasy/shiny look on tires, but I do like a satin-like appearance over the "natural" look many reputable tires produce. This fits the bill perfectly.

Based on what I saw from this weekend's application, I won't hesitate to use this on the rest of my personal fleet as I perform my Spring detailing sessions.

The TW stuff now is my go to product. I was amazed at how long the tires looked great into the Chicago winter.

Not too bad for a winter survival and they are not even clean.
