Just curious, how many miles are on that vehicle and how old it is? I would imagine she is not garage kept, is she?

. Not garage kept. DD. 1/4 mile gravel driveway. Wife drives 100m a day to and from louisville. Maybe a few years old. Sorry for not having exact year

The cracking reminds me either of clear coat fracturing or remnants of a bird dropping that has etched the surface.

Clear coat heat cracking?

Clear coat getting too thin -> UV light penetrating into it full depth and into the base paint -> UV degrading the entirety of the clear coat and the top layer of the base paint -> clear coat becomes "brittle" -> heat applied -> heat causes dilation -> clear coat cracks and peels
