I am not a coating denier
I have a coating on the roof or my SUV. It.makes sense for me in that application
What is important is actually what you posted in #2:
But hey, no one else is using "MY" money to purchase "THEIR" LSP so it doesn't really matter.
Anything is worth exactly how much someone is willing to pay for it
But the way you act as if anyone who is not using coatings is an idiot, is ridiculous
Also on you point #2 you admit that, "Of course you can come up with many reasons why not to coat a car,...", but then you claim that none of those reasons are "reasonable". That statement makes no sense and is again asserting that anyone whom is not using coatings is unreasonable
#3 I was reading your statements that coated paint eliminates the need for future polishing. Once again, i will ask you to prove this assertion in any way you choose, but please let someone other than you take the after photos
My paint does have swirls. It is black, driven daily and not garaged
#4 A few drops and asking OPT to change the label. Sounds like we agree that making the drops and thickness claims at the same time is unreasonable. It is not "bickering" to disagree in a reasonable manner using prior marketing statements or OPT as the basis
I am not a "dude" or "the dude"
Why do people say things like "Dude, you really need to move on." What place does a statement like that have here. Would you say that to someone in person, I couldn't
I have watched OC2.0 being applied and I have seen it after application. At what point am I allowed by you to have an opinion?
You commented about Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0, have you used it, seen it at 6 weeks and 6 months. If not how, can you comment? If you can coat a panel with a "few drops" of a coating, what makes you say I can't coat an SUV with 1/2 ounce of sealant?
#5 Testing different products on different panels of the same vehicle is common place
Yes, I am indicating to you that the appearance of the painted surface looked better to me prior to application of OC2.0
#6 I only know you as you know me, through this Forum. What I know about you is based on your words here, your website and the included 3D products video. BTW, are they still the largest detail products company in the world as stated in the video on your website?
Please quote any post I have made "bad mouthing" a product. Maybe, I don't understand your definition of the slang, "bad mouthing"?
1 - feel free to contact both David Fermani and Scottwax and ask about their long term results. I figured if I am not part of it it will be more satisfying for you. And while you communicate with Scott, ask him about his father's car as well.
Both of these individuals are very capable detailers and know how to wash and dry a car = swirl free finish. Let me know what they tell you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
What can you not understand about my logic here? Yes there are reason one can come up with why not to do something that is beneficial. In this case a superior protection for your paint. That doesn't mean that those reasons against it are logical.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what makes you feel like an idiot, I never ones said so or suggested. IN MY OPINION (just like you, I have one as well) everyone should use a coating for obvious reasons. That is a sensible suggestion, not sure why some of you get so worked up over that statement.
You can walk in the rain and hold an umbrella over your head, or not. It is your choice, but using one makes more sense.
Here is another one. When buying a new car and you are the type who notices every little things, I will suggest that you DO NOT purchase black. If you don't care, it doesn't matter, buy what you like.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Swirls - let me say it hopefully for the last time. I have never said and nobody else has, that if you coat your car you automatically will retain a swirl free finish. IF you know/learn how to properly wash wipe and dry your car's paint, you can maintain a swirl free finish with a hard coating like Opti Coat.
THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE CAR WASHES. It means that you and only you touch your paint, the way you were thought, using the right products, etc... After all, the idea behind sites like AUTOPIA and all that followed was to master our craft/hobby for a swirl free finish. If it was possible without coatings, why is it so hard for you to grasp that idea?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wolfgang - you are again, putting words in my mouth. You can use ANY traditional sealant, or wax. Every time you wash your car, every time it rains on it, the sun etc... the LSP is effected in a negative way - eats away the LSP. So unless the car sits in a garage, that wax is going to suffer, not to mention if your car is dark/black.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OC 2.0 worsening the finish. As a professional detailer, I have tried a few LSP products over the last 12 years. Not once, no matter how cheap the wax/sealant or coating, have I ever come across one that made the finish worse. I have personally used more than a few times OC 2.0 and it always improved the look. Unless you can point me to another person who feels the same as you, I have never read that. Do you think the beta testers for OC 2.0 were blind?

Here you go!
Yes, I am indicating to you that the appearance of the painted surface looked better to me prior to application of OC2.0
Actually, it isn't bad mouthing, this statement is absurd. 2.0 used to be full of polymers, how would it dull the look? I am pretty sure that you have better eyes than I but even I saw an improvement, and pretty sure that I have seen OC 2.0 in action more times than yourself. Not once was I sorry.

We agree that the label should be reworded, yet you claim that somehow you know that I use only a few drops per panel. I use 10cc per sedans and 15cc on suvs.
Also where did I say anything about the amount of product you use? Hello?
