I am thinking of selling my ram and getting a brand new 2019 SUV, not really sure which one yet, but for sure I want to coat everything I can. The only coatings I’ve used are Cquartz UK, gliss and Cquartz Dlux. I want to coat the interior (plastic and leather), calipers, rims and all the exterior. I like leather and plastic to have a satin/matte finish, and I know you guys have so much experience.... can you please help me out? Which leather coating is really good and has this look? Which coating is the best for interior plastics? What can I use for calipers? Rims?Glass coating? Also if I coat my leather seats how do I moisturize them? Thank you all so much for helping me with this, I really appreciate the interest and time!!!!

Rims and Caipers use DLux. Glass I think McKee’s 37 glass coating works well.
I haven’t coated leather, I prefer to clean and seal it a couple times a year.

If you have not tried out CQUK 3.0 then give that a try. It is a nice coating on it's own. Gliss V2 is also now out so you have that option as well. I would consider using them.

If you have the need to try something different see if you can get a hold of something from 22ple. I have just coated a car in 22ple VX Pro 2 and it looks good. It is not as hydrophobic as CQUK 3.0. By that I mean the tight water beading. GTechniq Crystal Serum Light + Exo would be another good option.

I would say to pass on Gyeon Syncro and Optimum Gloss Coat. For me they were under performers.

DLUX works well for trim and wheels. Seems to last about a little over a year as a wheel coating. It can also be used on calipers and if you like interior plastics. I am assuming you mean like piano type interior plastics. You can also use CQUK 3.0 for wheels. Seems to perform a bit better than DLUX in my experience as a wheel coating.

For glass I have had success with CarPro FlyByForte and Optimum Opti-Glass. I tend to like FlyByForte a little better.

For leather coatings I have had success with both Cquartz Leather and Gyeon Leather Shield. They will not alter the appearance of the leather. Once coated all you need to do is keep the seats clean. No need to use a conditioner as the coating will repel it anyway. Gyeon Leather Coat can be used in conjunction with Gyeon Leather Shield for maintenance.

If you had to choose between coating leather or just cleaning and conditioning it what would you go for? My concern with coating it is that I would not be able to conditions it..., won’t it look dry and “cracked “ after a while?

Anytime. As long as you clean and protect the leather you should be fine. Modern day leather has a coating already on it so these conditioners won’t penetrate all the way through. So most of it will be removed.

Older leather that is cracked benefits from a conditioner.

So with new leather I would look to clean and protect it. If you don’t want to go the coating route then you have sealant like products for leather such as Gyeon Leather Coat and GTechniq (can’t recall the name off the top of my head).

Leather coat last a couple months and does a good job. Just needs to be used more often over a leather coating.

Hmm Didn’t notice any issues when I costed my black seats compared to coating my dad’s great seats.

The black definitely gets a bit darker, almost like it remains slightly wet looking. I'd imagine this is why Carpro doesn't recommend it's use on light colored leathers.

Have had no issues on light colored leather or dark colored leather. Side by side it looks the same as Gyeon Leather Shield.

The reason at one point for not being used on light colored leather was due to the possibility of the orange suede staining the leather. That has been resolved with the replacement of the white surfers.
