I bought the larger Cobra Guzzler drying waffle weave, and have to say I AM NOT impressed.

I did however pick up a 730GSM Ultra Plush microfiber towel, and it is great. Sucks the water right up, super soft and very efficient.

Is there something I am missing about the Cobra?

I got a few Guzzler for free back from the sale they had.
I never even bother using that on my car...
it feels rough and im afraid it will scratch my paint instead lol....
Maybe i will use it on like family's and friends car lol

I love my Guzzler, I have posted many times they get better with age! Give it another try it's a great drying towel!

I hate my Guzzlers. Its not really that they dont work(although, it takes 2 of the larger ones to dry my med size car).

My paint is so soft that the guzzlers, as well as most other drying towels, mar my paint.

The Guzzlers do not hold anywhere near as much water as they lead you to believe.

Sorry to ask a foolish question, but what is a 730GSM Ultra plush?

I have 4 large and 2 small guzzlers, these things are awesome. I can go around my pickup with 1 large one and all I have left is the final wipe for crevices and any damp spots. Maybe try washing yours once or twice, mine worked well straight from AG with no pre-washing.

I'm a little shocked by this. (differences in batches?) Mine is the softest drying towel I own. I also have the mother's foam core towel. I do admit you need 2 even on a small car.

I just use the purple or grey as drying towel from cobra with the largest size they have...

I got the huge one with the hand pockets as part of that recent promotion.

Haven't used it yet but it's not as soft as my mother's foam core...

maybe I'll wash it and see what happens...

It is actually from another website. I wish AG would carry them.

They are very, VERY soft MF towels.

Proseries 730GSM Ultra Plush microfiber...

Doesnt marr, extreme safe and soft.

No you are not missing anything. AG likes to exaggerate most of the descriptions on the store's website. It's just part of the game man.

It's like buying a wax and then not being impressed because it didn't literally create "whiplash" on bystanders. Some of the stuff in their description you just gotta take wit ha grain of salt.

Visit the forums here more often and get real life reviews and opinions. That's why they have the forum.

I have WW drying towels from..ahem..a competitor, that is not as soft as I expected and was also hyped-up. To avoid marring, I blot dry 95% of the car an only wipe in very low or otherwise non "prime time" areas. Any final wipe will be with a plush MF and some form of product (QD. V7, OCW, etc.).

I don't bother with drying towels anymore,I just blow the water with my wet/dry vacuum.

I'm right there with you Meghan! :props:

My Cobra Guzzlers are great towels especially after they've been used and washed a few times. I find these towels very soft and have never had them scratch or marr any finish...:dblthumb2:

I'm really suprised to see so many negative reviews on these. I'm honestly not a huge Cobra MF fan, but the guzzler hands down is one of the best drying towels on the market imho.

I have to agree with alot of what is being said I traded the (80/20) 350-gsm guzzlers in because they did scratch the paint. My ultimate drying towel collection is made up of the Gold Plus/XL (600-gsm) towels. They work great. They even appear every so often on the Friday BOGO. IMO any towel greater than 360 gsm. terry can be used as a drying towel. The secret is finding one that you like and buying as many as you can afford and learn to use them.

I got the free guzzler a few weeks back. I've used it on my 2005 redfire gt and love it! Not a scratch. As far as taking 2 to dry a med size car? I dried my, and just to see how much more it would hold I got all of my wife's 08 Saturn outlook. Got all but the back hatch, that's a good sized suv!
