I had recieved the PC kit with the CCs pads and I worked on my wife's hood today. The first two MF towels I used to remove the detail spray from using clay were just generic MF from wallyworld. After starting to use the PC I grabbed the Cobra MF that came with the kit and began to use it. Wow, even the feel is completely different. The seemed to glide easier on the bare paint, felt "fuller" and now I understand whyt people like them so much. Just with a quick use I can see a huge difference in the quality of the MF out there. After putting the generic back on the paint, it felt like it could scratch based upon just the "feeling" I got as it was moved across the paint.

I admit it, I am a cheapskate, I thought I would find some generic MF and be done. No way, for paint I am positively going to be using the CObras n my cars.

Just a post for anyone who hasnt tried them.

I just use cheap MFs for wheels, if needed, and also door jams. Cobra MF's only for the exterior paint :). Yes Cobra MF's aren't cheap, but it's better than scratching putting very light scratches on your paint.

I assume the cobra MF was a blue indigo? If so, order some Cobra Deluxe's and junior deluxe's also for QD's/spray waxes. These towels are the bomb!!!

:iagree: :iagree:

I know Cobra's are what everyone uses. My question is which ones to order. I am guessing the JR's and super plush as they are the ones as they have been out for the last month. what do you recommend???

i love the 16x24 blue cobras but they have been on back order for a while .i hope they will be avalible soon .

The ones I used were the ones that came with my PC kit, so they weren't the top of the line ones but were incredible anyways. Walked thru wallyworld and found a "car drying" MF and the feel was no comparison to the smaller ones I have. UGH!! more money spent (trying to convinvce myself that the order needs to be AT LEAST $75 so I can get free shipping lol)

Speaking about cheap MFs, I went to Target yesterday and picked up 8x of their orange Vroom MFs on sale for $5.99. They aren't as nice as my Cobras, but it's a great deal for using them on your wheels and the interior.

I can tell you in all honesty I am a mf junkie ... I love them and buy them from all vendors. Too date Cobra is about the finest made, with DFtowels making some nice Alpine Fiber towels as #2. (do a search and their recent offerings suck, and most are fast moving off those towels). Pakshak would be in 3rd position with super service and great offerings. So search as I do, or just stick with the best. I'll squeal if I find something better ....

Maybe you'll squeal, or maybe not since cobra is AG, it seems I have almost never seen you say an AG product was not the best. For instance you said that there was not an improvement over souveran when using your $360 ital glaze or concours, and everyone else I asked (on another detailing forum) said that concours beats souveran.

Also I havent seen anyone except the people here that like xmt glaze, RMG, CG, and danase are regarded as the mest everywhere else.

In all fairness, he is a moderator here... Kind of his job innit!

Great towels that won't break the back google Excel detail his Elite towels are awesome. To me they feel the same as the Cobra Jr's. I also have Pakshak's towels and I love those just as much (they cost more then Cobra's). All of the one mentioned here are great and non scratch the paint in my experience. MF towels are like carnuabs/sealants it's all preference(sp?) imo. Heck I have some $2 towles from Winner Circle detailing that never scratched my paint. They aren't as fluffy soft as the others mentioned here but never scratched at the same time.

Maybe because this forum was created to promote products that AG sells and help their costumers with any questions they might have. Hmmm

Your right .... and I was not offering Menzerna, Novus plastic polishes, and English Custom Metal Polishes to everyone on each forum !! Maybe a little better homework is needed. If its good I'll say it, if not it aint gotta place in my top ten.

Oh yeah ... trust me on the Zymol, the original Ital and Concours do not surpass Souveran on looks and especially when cost is considered. The new Ital is darn nice (except for the 360.00) price point. But its your money to spend !!

Danase = wholesaler like AG
Chemical Guys = base/beta product, rebottled as Adams and many others like Danase
RMG = great product, we carried it, you failed to buy it, and we cancelled line.

how bout those MF towels from cotsco? 24 of them for 10 bucks, is that good?
what's your guys opinion on those?

For years I've had my own simple basic code. My friends get the profit if fair. Sometimes they get the profit even if it's a little more than the stanger down the street.
Put me down for my AG stuff is the best, especially the Cobras. Oh, yah, and the Souveran. And...............
