Cobra Microfibers causing marring

There is a big difference between the 2. A good quality 70/30 is alot softer than the 80/20 and should not leave any marring. Also what country they come from plays a role in how well they work.

As I said, just because it says 80/20 it may not indicate the true content. For example, I noticed that Viking had changed the labels on their drying towels from 70/30 Made in Korea to 80/20 Made in China last year. I sent an inquiry to them.

They said the cloth itself was still 70/30 using split end technology but the **Finished** towels had to be labeled 80/20. I think this is due to the satin edging affects the material content (an import rule).

So, 80/20 is NOT what you think it is and generalizations cannot be made. One must decide by testing like the comment from Pakshak on each towel.

I did see a comparison of the theoretical absorption properties of true 70/30 vs 80/20 fiber but I forget where I saw it.

Never wipe light dust after polishing dry. Always use a QD and a good mf or better yet, use an IPA or prep sol wipe down before LSP.

:iagree::whs:. some of that dusting still has some light abrasives that haven't totally broken down. The only time that I ever reintroduced swirls immediately was doing this and then never again. I can't ever point at my Cobra MF's being at fault. The number of times that I've done the CD scratch test I've never had a Cobra towel leave scratches like some of the others.

agreed, i have some viking microfiber towels that are every bit as good as the pakshak's and some other high end boutique microfiber towels that i have. as long as any microfiber that you use performs with no negative results, that's all that matters...

The lesson here is to never allow a completely dry towel to come in contact with a completely dry car. Regardless of the quality of the towel you always need some lubrication in there.

Cobra towels are the best I have used (never tried pakshak, only vroom and some other brand I bought online but cant remember). The cobra deluxe jr is my fav towel along with the cobra guzzlers. They are soft and plush, but can still cause marring if used improperly.

When wiping off polish, use a qd or ipa. When drying use a qd or spray wax. When wiping off wax or sealant, use a compatible instant detailer with wax or sealant.

I do however do usually do a very light final buff with a dry deluxe jr, but there is always fresh protection on the car when doing so.
