I know not every hobby is conducive to all time of the year, but I really struggle to find products that work in the cold. In the winter I am forced to go to the coin op car washes to get the salt and crud off my car, but sometimes it is in the high 30s or 40s and I want to put a coat of wax on or something else to make it shine. Paste waxes aren't a problem, but I find just about anything else I use on the interior or anything in liquid form just doesn't work that well. I have found one or two exceptions.
- Poorboy's Leather Stuff seems to work best on my seats in the cold.
- Invisible Glass doesn't seem to have a temperature it doesn't work well in for windows.
- I've found that gel tire shines like the Wolfgang Black Diamond product works better on tires. Everything else seems to never dry and create more problems.
- Wolfgang Fuzion is a great wax to use during the winter months. I told this story to everybody who asked about the product at SEMA and I'll tell it again. I put this on half my car after a full polishing just so I could benchmark the results. I had nothing on the passenger side and Fuzion on the Driver side. I did this in November and was going to gauge the results by how long it took for my side to look like the passenger side. The driver side was still beading water in March!! It is a fantastic winter product that goes on easy in the lower temperatures.
I'm looking for other products to use in the winter that won't freeze or stay wet. Any gel dash protectants out there?
