Just a quick question, will Colinite 845 work on top of Meg's Ultimate Wax?

Thanks

I see no reason why it wouldn't "work". Would it be better than an extra coat of Ultimate Wax? Or two coats of #845 alone? Wouldn't hurt anything to try I guess.....

To me...
Almost seems that it would be bassackwards doing it that way,
if the Wax over Sealant school-of-thought holds true.

But I also agree with what forum member spiralout462 mentioned earlier:

Well technically the Meg's ultimate wax is actually a sealant. It's branded as a wax since it's over the counter and most consumers look for wax, not knowing what a sealant is.

Yep, just like NXT is. :D

Thanks for the reminder...I know it is...I even have it.
I'm the one that was bassackwards on this point.

Thanks guys!

I was buying some Dr Colorchip the other day because I noticed I had some (more than I thought) road rash when I was putting on the Meg's. So, while I was getting the DRC I threw in the cart some 845.

Now I know I read somewhere on Autogeek (not forum) that some product doesn't play nice with others but I can't find it again. I thought is one of Meg's...

I've only used the Collinite twice, but it seems to play well with just about anything. I've used it on a "clean" surface prepped with Klasse AIO and also over Poorboys Black Hole. In both cases it has held up just fine.

I don't know about the Meg's durability, but all things considered equal, I don't know if you'd gain anything by mixing the two. You could easily go with what others have already said and just double coat with one product and be fine.

Just wanted to add that Meg's Ultimate Wax looks for a 12 hr. minimum cure time (if I recall what their tech line advised) before applying anything on top of it so you don't mess with the sealant's bonding.

Ok, thanks for the help.

I hear great stuff about the 845 so I wanted to give it a shot.

Would y'all consider 845 better than Meg's UW?

It doesn't have to be a show car to be pampered and look good.

I can't say anything about the Meguiars Ultimate as I've never used it. I will say I love 845 and have had great results on the two cars I've put it on. The fact it is really durable and very easy to apply/buff out is an extra bonus.
