Well the car was very noticeable as I have never seen that color before as well as that type of wheel on the car!

By the way one of my lottery cars is a 1965 Riviera Gran Sport black on black with true wire wheels with black walls.

Not black on black, but a pretty "midnight blue" with white interior. I like interior and exterior colors that contrast each other.

Is it true this was supposed to be a Caddy originally? Btw I heard Enzo Ferrari said these Rivs were the best looking American cars EVER.....true?You might like my other first gen Riv then too...

The Riviera when initially drawn had "LaSalle" badging in the preliminary design sketches. Cadillac was not interested in the car, so a contest was held internally at GM to see which division would be awarded the project.
Buick was the only division that hired an outside advertising firm to assist in creating a proposal presentation and was ultimately given the project as a result of "wooing" GM executives with their enthusiasm for the design.

I love how the front of the 65 Riv and 65 GTO are "kinda" similar and is probably why these 2 cars are amongst my 5 lotto cars.
