Collinite 467s or 845

What about the 476s? Does that also need to be heated up before use?

No. Unless it's winter, then perhaps just simply bring it inside the night before to get to room temp. A trick I learned here on AG was to buy/collect empty deodorant containers then melt it and put it into them to cool. When doing to use, simply wipe the "deodorant" wax :) onto your DA Pad. Key with 476 is to put it on very very thin.

Hi. I have a black car and I want to know which wax would be best out of collinite 476s and 845.
I am wanting a durable one out of the two. I want to know which one be better at not coming off when I wash the car...... (I usually wash my car once a week)
Also, which wax out of the two leaves a better shine?
Thanks

There all pretty compatable. 476 is more user friendly.845 the same but apply thin.915 will deepen the color and fleetwax is a bit harder to remove but all in all the best wax you can purchase as of today.

I've heard that you need to shake the bottle of 845 vigorously before use after heating it up with warm water. Is that true?

Only 476 if you can't get it out of the plastic bottle.845 is in a tin can paste no need to warm up.

Reversed...845 is liquid. 476 is a paste. 845, IME, is pretty easy to use. Havent used 476. Thinking of giving it a go for winter this year.

I think you've got that reversed there.... 845 is a liquid and 476 is in a tin can.

As I said previously, you can't go wrong with either one.

I feel like the 845 is easier to use, because I can put 4 dots on a pad and apply it.

The 476 I used a spatula to get some out of the tin and spread on to my pad like buttering a piece of toast. Takes longer for me to do that.

I get about the same longevity from both. I stick with 845.

What’s the difference between the auto waxes; No. 845 Insulator Wax, No. 476s Super Double Coat and the No. 915 Marque D’ Elegance?
All 3 last step waxes serve the same function: to provide a high gloss carnauba shine and lasting protection. All 3 contain copious amounts of wax-both rare Brazilian carnauba and premium synthetic polymers. However, their degree of durability, ease of use, and warmth of shine vary. Think of it this way;
1. No.476s – most durable protection/weather defense. Most elbow grease required during application.
2. No. 915- 2nd most durable and slightly easier than the 476s to apply/remove. No. 915 lends our warmest shine to dark tones like navy and black due to its highest concentration of rare carnauba.
3. No. 845- easiest of the 3 to apply/remove with slightly less durability than the No. 915.

Roughly what temperature should it need to be for the 845 to become free and easy to get out of the bottle? Would it be ok on a normal summers day to use without having to heat it up?

It's fine to use without warming it up during summer application, but it will be slightly more difficult to apply. I typically dunk my bottle in the sink, close the stopper, and just let warm water run over it for a minute or two and it's ready to rock.

Agreed. It's really not that big of a deal. It's often just fine to use at ambient air temp. If it seems a little on the thick and clumpy side, I just run the bottle under warm water in the sink for a couple minutes. That's usually enough to loosen it up enough so that you can give the bottle a couple shakes and it'll be ready to go.
