Beading is still good after 5 months

Yes it is, wish it would fit in the garage

Nice work. At that rate, it'll take you 10 years to go through that $20 can of wax. I keep 845 in my arsenal - would like to try Marque D'Elegance.

I am having similar results with #915
Collinite is good stuff.

Awesome. I've been meaning to try this, but I think I need to go through my 845 first. I have too many lsp's lol.

I have a healthy coating of 476 on my MINI that I put on before winter. The snow has slid off with all the dirt and my wife asked when I washed the car. I had to show her the dirty streaks on the front of the white roof.

hehehe.... my wife said the same thing when she cleared the snow of my car. I have 845 on it and after 4 months it is still going strong. I have 915 as well but didn't use it for this winter season.

I really am amazed by Collinite waxes. Every time I read a thread on Collinite waxes, it never fail to amazed me from everyone's finding n results on it. I myself have tried many types n brands of car waxes, sealants n coatings. And I would truthfully say I do always comes back to Collinite 476 or 845. As it will and always never fail on me. I don't know what they put in the can or btl. :-)

One combo that I love is DGloss 501 topped with Collinite 915.

Easily 6-9 months of protection with a killer look. The only downside is for those who like changing LSPs like underwear. This combo doesn't come off easily.

Are you sure it is the Collinite that is beading? The reason I ask is that most people will use a "topper" product to enhance gloss and add a layer of protection between details and even after weekly washes. For example, I recently did a full detail and after my clay and polish (P21s Paintwork cleanser), I put on two coats of Collinite 845.

After I wash my cars I always use sprays of something like AquaWax or OCW. This helps to boost gloss and the "toppers" also become sort of a sacrificial layer of protection to the Collinite. I'm talking about true spray waxes and sealants rather than QDs, which usually lightly clean and give added shine but by themselves do not provide much in the way of protection.

The small beads you show is typical of Collinite beading but I'm just wondering if you've used spray waxes or "toppers" of some kind during these past five months?

I have gone a whole year with a coat of 476 wax and the water beading never went away. This has been an unintentional wax test, I sprained my back while washing waxing my car one day and lost interest in detailing since then. The only other wax that seems to last this long that I have personally used is Autoglym HD wax. Both waxes need extremely thin coats and whichever one I apply goes on over Meguiars Color X. I want to try detailing again this spring and will use my car as a documented test for 476. I only drive my car 5000 miles a year and it sits outside 24/7. I only wash with ONR and dry with synthetic chamois and all waxing is done by hand.

I don't use spray waxes or sealants, just wash with DP extreme foam or Optimum car wash.

Since you don't use any boosters that beading after five months is terrific! I hope my 845 does as well.

I know this isn't five months worth but almost exactly 3 months...

The car has been waterless washed once (or twice, I forget) and that's pretty much it. It's seen a couple of light snows and lots of road salt and sleet and rain since.

A shot of the fender beading:

You can sort of see the dark dirt streaks on the roof from all the crap on the road:

It's not perfect, but it's not bad. The worst offender is the tailgate. I didn't get a photo but it's visibly dirty. She'll probably get a bath tomorrow. Warm water and ONR.

(I should also note that my Gtechniq G1 glass coating is holding up nicely over about the same time period.)

After a few winters, 476 is now my gold standard for winter prep on DD's. Tough to see the beading here, as it was snowing when I took the pic, but I'm three months into a 2 coat app of 476 on a vehicle that sits outside 24/7 and is used daily in Pittsburgh, PA. I expect I'll still have good protection thru my spring freshen-up. When I only had a rotary, I was using 845 by hand. Now that a GG polisher is on hand, it's 476 all the way.

I've used Collinite for 30 years. Best thing I've found. 845/476s/915. Can't beat the beading and gloss.

After 3 months with a coat of 476 on my wife's BMW the car still looks great. Came through the snowstorm beautifully.
