Collinite 845 on Silver in HDR

I am too cheap to buy photomatix pro :D lol... I use EasyHDR on my iMac.

In your opinion, is Photomatix or photoshop worth getting? how much is it?

When I evaluated them, Photomatix had a lot more options, and hence versatility than PS did - but didn't really get a major difference in results, so stuck with my CS2 Photoshop, which I got discounted (student and teacher version). Since then, I've since moved to Lighroom as my main photo editing application - Photoshop is still more functional and versatile, but if you're doing primarily global rather than spot corrections, Lightroom is easier to use and better integrated into my workflow.

Photomatix is 99 for a stand-alone, 119 with plugins - they have fully-functional trial versions though, if you want to give it a go. Photoshop, of course, is massively more expensive. Actually, I need to do some reading up myself - I don't really know what the state of the art in HDR processing is nowadays :D.

Thanks guys. Yes, I usually do 5 shots of aeb. I can do 3 too, but I noticed that with 5, the range is much better. When you do 3, what do you do? +2, 0, and -2? Or do you do +1, 0, and -1?

Depends on the lighting. Usually I do -1, 0, +1. If it is very clear out and I have really good lights, I'll do -2, 0, 2.

Ill have to check out EasyHDR.
