Collinite-Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax #915

I think you will find that putting down 915 is not like putting on a spray wax (after every wash or every other wash to act as a wax booster)...915 need only be applied 2x per year in my experience...then go with a detail spray or waterless wash as the "booster" after each wash.

Putting on layer after layer of this type of wax really is not necessary.

I was asking about the dulling that you speak of....not the durability!

Can anyone comment on this dullness of multi-layers of 915 that silverfox speaks of??

Silverfox........any info here on this...PLEASE!

I think you will find that there is such a thing as too much wax. More is better is not true with 915. I can't speak for other waxes.

I think he meant 'muted flakes'... I recalled a thread in autopia someone applied one coat of 476 the flakes pop but after a second layer he found that the wax actually muted the flakes and it doesnt shine as good as the first coat..do a search on 476 muting the flakes.. you'll find some threads

I applied up to 8 coats of Griot's Garage best of Show wax to a bumper, and up to that pointy, it had been hiding scratches more and more, and looking richer and deeper. Upon applying a 9th coat, however, I definitely noticed an increased dullness, as in loss of clarity and being able to see the color, and loss of shine. It started to look noticeably browner, which is the color of the wax. That is the most wax I ever applied to a car, although each wax is different. I've read of people using over 20 coats of Souveran, which I find much to believe.
