Nice, that wash mitt now looks gentle, and or soft(fluffy), thanks for sharing

Is that a flea comb?

No, I actually bought this and a flea comb and the flea comb was to fine so I kept this one, It's a pet comb it's the step up from a flea comb

A few spritzes of children's hair detangler makes the comb out process much quicker

I do not notice any difference when washing with it due to the detangler

Most grocery stores carry it and it is inexpensive

I'll have to check that out, it was a bit of effort to get some of the parts combed out

I do the same thing! Not only does it extend the life of a good wash pad/mitt, it also ensure that any trapped particulate is removed from the pad/mitt. Works with natural and synthetic material too!

I like this comb, easier on the wrist

I use one of these and it removed everything, including any loose fibers.

I used one like that ^^^ and it ended up pulling the Koala mitt apart , like in clumps ,after the 5th or so wash/dry . Just sayen be careful with that . I may've brushed a lil too passionate too though lol

Thanks for posting this tip and showing the pictures. I meant to get a brush recommendation and before and after pictures for the second edition of my how-to book but simply ran out of time.

I have 4-5 different long fiber wash mitts in a drawer in my office ready for the article and the how-to book but just never got to it.

I did include this information in the book however on page 25, in the upper right hand column...

This topic is actually very important.

Why?

Because if you don't brush-out these types of wash mitts the fibers will mat together and when the fibers mat together it makes the mitt less gentle and more aggressive to the paint.

:)

was not aware it made the wash mit more aggressive, I will now be combing out my wash mit each time
