Component Speakers

If I were replacing speakers now, I'd go with with either MB or JL. I had a set of the MB 6.5" components in my old '99 Lightning and they sounded great. I've heard some newer systems with JL's and they sound great also.

You have the budget to get some awesome, top of the line components. Im not gonna bash polk, but there ok. The one guy who said he has the morels is the way to go, they are made by hertz and thats some of the best out there.
 
If possible, find the best car audio shop and ask them for advice on the best upgrade for your "cabin space". You'll be surprised how much better a system sounds when designed for what it sounds like in your car instead of on the floor...

ive got a set of critical mass in my 91 corvette and they sound pretty clean with 2 100 wat amps.

What type of music do you listen to? I have designed some high end systems and some amazing budget ones too. MY 2001 TL has close 10k in the sound system. I have custom Alpine F1 components to a JL w7 out back all powered my JL amps and a Eclipse HU.

So tell me the type of music you mostly listen to?

Are the speakers going to be amplifed or running off of the HU?

Are you going to be putting in a Sub down the road?

Max budget?

The music I listen to most is rock, but I do listen to some rap, but mostly rock and blues,
Speakers will be amped and yes I will put one sub in either 10" or 12" when I upgrade speakers. Max budget is $2000 but dont mind spending less.

Since your not going to be "bumping rap" from the little I think I know a 10" will give you more "punch"

Could be wrong though...
 
I think I'm going to go with Image Dynamics CTX6.5 CS for front component speakers and either Image Dynamics CTX 6x9s or 6.5 coaxial for rear. Will have to modify a bit for 6x9 but shouldn't be a big deal. Also I decided to go with RE Audio SEX10 subwoofer and a couple of Hifonics amps. Still haven't picked what head unit I want yet.
