I have a few quick questions..

Compounding glass? can it be done? and what speed on a pc?

I am working on my work truck and the paint has come out beautifully for a truck that has spent the majority of its life outside in the elements.. To tell the truth this is the first time that I have actually used a machine, and I like it!! :dblthumb2:

I will post pictures when I get through with it tomorrow..

Hey Cathy,

Can glass be compounded? Yes. The problem with compounding glass is glass itself is very hard, much harder than paint. Compounds and polishes are designed to use on paint.

Compounds and polishes will remove most staining, grime, and water spots but that about it.

Glass can be polished. There are special products available made especially for glass and work quite well.

CarPro CeriGlass works very well and removes everything I mentioned above plus minor scratches! :props:

Good to see that you're still blowin' up :props:

Compound and PC will effectively clean glass ~great for waterspots. But this will most likely reveal pitting and fine scratches that were previously hidden. And make those that were minor, seem more pronounced.
You'll know if the speed is too high if the compound is drying up and the waterspots remain.
ALLWAYS Test Spot first...and on the passenger side of the windshield.
ALLWAYS Work Clean.

If you're seeking to lighten or remove fine scratches, use the search feature and CeriGlass. There are those with excellent results ~ but also those with horror stories ~ especially with underpowered machines.

Me...I'll just sit on the sidelines. No glass cutting pads for me :bolt:

Hey Bobby/Cathy,
I read the review and that was some wicked slinging on the mirrors. I often (all most always) use a product I found at Low**. Easy Mask® Tape & Drape™ I have yet to polish glass but when working with any compound I found this to greatly reduce clean up.:dblthumb2:

Very Interesting Reads.

I believe that I will do some more reading on the subject before I tackle this project

car pro pads, ceriglass, bottles of water. DI water what is that?
make a mess, get dirty, I do that everyday so that wont be a shocker.

Where do I get those products? Here on AG?

I believe that I have just talked myself into this project. Nothing like the here and now!!!

If I have questions I will surely be ringing someones bell!!! :o)
