Looking for some better stuff. I have a dewalt 849 rotary buffer and a assortment of CCS Foam Pads. I use the 3M 3000 Perfect-It 3 step compounds, and am not satisfied with them. I generally us the orange pad with the 3M Perfect-It 3000 Rubbing Compound, 3M Rubbing Compound, 3M Perfect It 3
the white pad with 3M polish, 3M ultrafina, ultra fine polish, 3m car polish, rotary polisher, finishing polish, final polish and either the gray or blue finishing pad with 3M Perfect-It 3000 Swirl Mark Remover, 3M 06064, remove swirl marks, 3M Perfect It Swirl Remover. Then finish off with coating the vehicle in Eagle-One Liquid Polish.

I am also looking for something thats more of a 1 step only wax, you know for those in-between times. that removes light scratches, restores the shine in paint and leaves a good sealant on the paint.
 
How about Menzerna's Power Gloss ??? Its rather easy to use and works well. You will then need to move to a swirl remover and final polish as wanted/needed.

For a AIO wax look to Optimums Poly-seal or XMT360.
 
I have been using Menzerna Super Intensive polish and Menzerna Micro Polish since last spring and have yet to be unhappy with the results I am able to achieve. About a month ago I snagged up some Menzerna Power Gloss compound and have also been very happy with the results, especially with me only having an orbital buffer right now. I can only imagine how nice they will work when I pick up a Makita rotary in the next few weeks!
 
I have the perfect it 3000 set and get great results from them. I have the extra cut compound instead of the regular one. Out of the 3 the only disapointing one is the SMR. I find that is has fillers in it so you will need to do an IPA wipe after that step and the bite isnt as great.

The order you should be using it in is compound(compounding/heavy cut pad) , SMR(medium/ light cut pad) and Ultrafina(finishing pad). Since i see your using the wrong pad for SMR and ultrafina. SMR is a medium cutting polish and the Ultrafina is a finishing polish very similar to 106ff.

The only compound that I have found that cuts heavy damage fast is the 3m extra cut compound(Im one of the few that hasnt tired 105 yet.) I think you just need to revisit your techniques. Take a look at some of Totos work. He extensively uses the 3000 line.

Well I will be dam. Went back and looked and you are correct, i dont know why but i have been using 2 and 3 backwards. Going to try next time using 1, 3 and then 2 and see if i get a better result.

For right now i went ahead and ordered some PB EX-P and PB Natty Blue Wax to try that out.
