Finally not ashamed to admit it: I like shiny tires.

What did you use for product? I've been using perl straight for the past year or so and like the look. Nice car too!

3 coats of Hyper Dressing 2:1.

I've been using PERL also, but recently switched to McKee Tire Gel....awesome stuff!

Now, I'm not talking greasy, patchy Armor All tires, but shiny. Just shiny.

Most shine I've ever been able to get out of a product is Meguiars Endurance tire gel.....but also have been successful with CG VRPView attachment 48479

I used to use endurance gel, but I was tired of my hands looking like this when I was done...lol

I do have to say my tires Always shined when I was done. It was nice that I could get it anywhere!

Huot25....good one...is that pic from The Replacements?

Sure is! I just watch that movie the other night so that scene came to mind, lol.

Of the over the counter tire shines, I think endurance gel is my favorite, but I found perl and really liked how it was dry in a few minutes and gave a nice amount of gloss.

I was picking up dinner for the family tonight and I came across this white jeep that had more gloss on the tires than it did on the paint. I should have taken a picture.

We should have our own shiny tire group!

There's lots of great shiny tire dressings but few that don't sling.

I'm the same way Kevin!!! I love shiny tires and I mainly use Meguiar's Hyper Dressing @ 2:1.

I've recently started using PERL @ full strength too.

Lmao love the title , good for you

Well, you know...there's all this talk and promotion of matte finishes for tires. It's all good, and the matte finish does look great. But the SHINE! Love it!

Which do you prefer? PERL is almost double the price, but I have also been using it at various dilutions for different areas on my cars. Once I burn through my PERL (still have quite a bit left) I may pick up a gallon of HyperDressing. I love everything else form the Meg Detailer line so I am sure I will love HD too.

This thread is slowly becoming TSJA(Tire Shine Junkies Anonymous)

Step 1: Admitting we have a problem.
Step 2: Trying to convince our better half that we really needed to by that new tire shine because the other 8 that we have just don't get the job done.

I dont like matte finish, i like a mice satin/sheen finish. Lol

High shine tires arent for me, on RVS they look good, but on certain cars i like a nice dark sheen.

Again love the title lol

love me some PERL, 1:1 for tires works excellent for me...

Finally not ashamed to admit it: I like shiny tires.

The more I think about why I don't like shiny tires, the more I realized it's not the shine itself...

It's the clumpy, uneven mess that 9 out of 10 cars out there be sporting around. Most don't bother thoroughly clean the rubber before applying the product.

And so I tend to associate shiny to "shiny mess" in my head. lol

Armor all isn't greasy nor patchy on tires. It's water based and looks great on tires applied evenly and lightly with a foam or brush applicator. Gives a clean black look that is more of a satin or matte finish than shiny. I'll post a picture tomorrow if I have time.

I just used HD dressing this weekend will wait and see how it holds up...
