I have a 07 Ram 1500 in Metallic Black. Right now I just wash, clay twice a year if not more and wax with DP Max Wax once a month. I love how it looks when clean but after reading on here about sealants and what not is there something else i should be doing to give me a better look? I'm just now getting into the car show scene and would like to do something to set my ride apart other than just wax it. I also have a porter cable with some poorboys polish and various pads and break that out when the swirls get too bad, which I also don't understand how i get in the first place since i use the 2 bucket method and nothing but microfiber towels to dry, QD etc.

The only thing that I would add is a glaze. It's applied before your wax to amp up more wet look.
The sealant may help a little with looks but I've always considered it more for durability.

Let me suggest this, it is commonly suggested that waxes look better than sealants. That said, commonly sealants are more durable (length of protection, not actual benefits from protection). Use what you want and like, and understand each product will have a benefit and detraction.

Could always mix, use sealant as base and top with wax. Personally I'm so busy and literally have no time lately, that I love the spray and wipe products like Duragloss AW. I get good durability from it and its very quick and easy to use, and also looks great. I haven't used my waxes or normal sealants in long time.
