another newb questions.Beem reading about Menzerna line of products.Just out of curiosity,is Menzerna IP really a polish or more of a compound.Been reading about the IP,or is it just my ignorance about this product and this is what it says:

Based on its abilities you’d think it’s a compound but, in fact, Menzerna Intensive Polish is just what the name says – a polish on steroids

and

To call it a polish is somewhat misleading because it really falls somewhere between a strong swirl remover and a compound Even though the name says polish, by most standards,this is a compound.

So,can someone clarify which is which? Feed back please:confused:

I think you answered your on question.
Polish can be abrasive and non-abrasive, polishes products may or may not have a chemical cleaner as part of it. They have less cut than compounds.
Compound is what I call the sandpaper abrasive. It has more cut than polishes. Use Compound only if all else has failed.

I've heard quite a few people say to skip IP and just use SIP. That stuff apparantly is aggressive enough to get rid of defects, yet still finishes down to LSP...

I agree with this. I never had much luck with IP or FPII. The pro line works much better for me.

If you look up the Menzerna chart it will show cut/gloss/grit no removed,
I only use the por line but it will look something like this;

Product specific-Menzerna Polishes- are foam pad ‘dependant’ as far as its paint correction abilities are concerned and they appear to work better when the foam pad is ‘primed’ I would recommend a two level foam pad / polish system to really heighten the paints finish shine;

Power Gloss (POS 34A) will remove 1000 grit, cut 5.0 - gloss 1.5 (LC Foamed Wool, Yellow or Orange CCS foam pads)

Super Intensive Polish (PO83Q) will remove 2000 grit, cut 3.5 – gloss 3.0 (Orange LC CCS foam pads)

Final Polish (PO85U) cut 3.0 - gloss 4.0 (White LC CCS foam pad)

Nano Polish (105FF) will remove 2500 grit, for light surface marring and / or surface finishing, cut 2.5 - gloss 5.0 for LSP ready use a White LC CCS foam pad, these polishes can also be used for conventional clear coats :cheers:

But SIP and IP have the same cut of 3.5 and grit of 2000.What make the 2 different then.Why do you prefer SIP and IP?:confused:

Or is it good enough to use 106ff and keep the SIP and IP as a last resorts. Please be patient with me .i`m still in the learning stage

I just did a 2000 chevy 1500.. used LC orange pad and 106ff. Let me tell you all the swrils and light scratches came right out. Honestly to me it seems like my poorboys ssr2.5 with a little more gloss. It wont pull out deep scratches but try it witha light cutting pad - you will be amazed! One thing i learned from AG thus far..use the least intense way first...

Would the Nano Polish be to agressive to use as a final polish on a Black Lexus? I am under the impression that the Menzerna line is more for harder clear coats not a softer paint like Lexus uses

SIP was created for ceramic clear coats.
