Considering purchasing

To re-charge the filters istn't that much really, it's $195 (I think) to purhcase a large amount of "pellet"...I'm still doing the break down on it.

I have a DI system for my Reef aquarium, and know you can buy bulk DI resin for much cheap then they sell it for. I have been tempted to contact a water purification company to see if they can build something similar at a better cost.

sparkie - thank's bro for the help. I wonder though, who did you speak with becuase I spoke with Chuck (I think he's the owner...just how he spoke but I honestly don't know). He answered the questions quite well...but then again I don't know these things the way you do spark. Thank you for all the help bro and yes it's not a cheap system and that's the only thing that has me hesitant about it. I got a question for you sparkie, looking at this system how does it compare to the one that AG has? I read the other topic you posted on the test's you ran and seems to be that it was an okay system but it would still leave some spots? Is the assumption I'm making here reasonable? Or do you feel the AG system compares well.

trl2112 - Thanks for the feed back, I've been looking around and comparing prices for the DI resin. If you find anything please let me know.

No problem bro. I did not ask nor did I ask what relations he had with the company. He was real nice and told me what he could about the system. Questions I ask him he could not answer. Which was about the reduction of chorine, iron, turbidly. He said it will reduce solids in the water and great for spot free drying and going back how the system works. I said that is great, I understand how it works and what it will do. I ask him again about the reduction data. He said he didn’t have that on hand a guess he could try to find it. I tried to pull it out of him. I don’t think he wanted to get find it.
It’s a lot cheaper price than my plant paid for our unit in the lab.
In a way you can compare it to AGs. These are two different types of system. One is DI and the other is filters water. DI water is superiors to filter water. The test I run on AGs unit was for another member, I do not have the unit myself. I don’t know if it leaves paint spotless nor dose it says it doses. The thing I can remember is his potable water was pretty hard, and it did improve a lot. I can’t compare AGs unit to theirs. I don’t have the data. I can tell you this DI water is the 3rd step up. Systems are in this order Filter, RO, DI. If anyone has this system, I would be glad to run the tests. All I need is two bottles samples of water, before and after it runs thru the unit.
Brother we are here to learn and that is why we love this forum. :D

sparkie - Thank you for taking the time to do some digging for me bro, that's awesome :applause:. Question though, what does RO and DI stand for? mmmm...so all you need is a sample of the input water and then a sample of the output of the system...mmm...

TNT-C5 - Hey um...any chance you would be willing to share these samples with sparkie? Please :)

To help you out... RO stands for reverse osmosis and di for deionized. you want deionized without a doubt if you want true spot free. that is what i use. RO water still has minerals and junk in it, but very minimal.

And you need to find out your PPM (parts per million) to know how long a charge will last you on the filtration system.

pm me again, nica! i did not know my inbox was full!!!

Dust2Glory - Thanks for the info....I assumed that's what they ment but just wante to confirm. What system do you use to get the DI?

ltoman - PM coming up :D

well i got the info when i was looking into getting a system... but i have been blessed abundantly. a guy that owns a carwash here in my town hooks me up with free water. all i do is maintain his vehicles... ok so not really free but ya get what i mean

Really, sweet...I'm actually going to go over a buddy of mine's car wash and I'm going to ask him what fylter system he has in his palce. I have noticed he offers the option of DI water...but not sure if it's lagit.

Sweet a user, glad to hear that the system does what it's supposed to do...the only draw back is the fact that it won't last that long...well that's not entirely true. It all depends on the type of what your have, I'm not sure how bad or good out whater is here in Canada so I'm still doing some re-search on this. I spoke with Chuck from the US and said it if I could find out what the TDS (I think that's what it is) level where I live and provide him with it he could give me a better idea as to how often I'm going to have to re-charge or replace the filters.

To re-charge the filters istn't that much really, it's $195 (I think) to purhcase a large amount of "pellet"...I'm still doing the break down on it.

The thing that is pushing me on this system is that I have friends that have heard of this systems and are willing to pay for it when I detail there vehicles. The other factor that is pushing me to go this rout is becuase I'll be soon purchasing a highend vehicle and I already own a good vehicle and my thoughts are that my Lexus is well worth it and the additional vehicle is very well worth it.

So, users of this System please feel free to point out and positive or negative feed back on this system. So far I've heard nothing but positive feed back...I would like to hear some negative...there is no such thing as a perfect system...well except for Menzerna :D

Seriously though, feed back is very much appretiated here.

dengood1 - Yes, I can purchase water softener for about the same amount of ca$h but I don't think water softener will do it like this system. After speaking with my main bro sparkie, I realized that the best water for washing vehicles is deionized water. If I'm not mistaken deionized water is not even good for us humans to drink...it's not going to kill us but it wont have the mineral/vitemins (I think, please currently spakie) that our body's require. But I did look into the water softener.

oh sorry for spelling here, typing way to fast for my own good :o

Well there are a few vehicles that I'm looking into and eventually I'm hoping to have them all but here they are:
  1. 1991 Lamborghini Diablo. Here is the pictures of the one I'll be purchasing soon, I took it for a test drive it's a very nice toy. I just love the shape of the vehicle and from the first time I saw it it got my attention:

Then I'll be purchasing my dream vehicle, the Ferrari Enzo. The guy that I'm dealing with has one in yellow and he will let me test drive it...with one condition...I have to give him a heavy depo$it for the one he will order for me(maybe, nothing for sure on the Enzo). Here is a picture of his Enzo in his shop.

But this is the one that may be coming my way. Apperently it's in Vegas and it's up for sale, that's what I was told.

I won't be purchasing the Enzo this year, perhaps a few more years...I need to get my wife the house she wants. The deal was that I could purchase my sports car/toy as long as she got the house she wanted. So first the 1991 Lamborghini Diablo, then the house then the Enzo. This guy I'm dealing with is incredable...but then again everything has a price...it's just amater of how much your willing to pay for it.

Another vehicle that has gotten my attention is the Buggatti...extrordinary vehicle...when the time comes to go ahead with the Enzo I'll be doing some serious comparing with the Bugatti and the Enzo.

Well, there you have it...hopefully soon I'll be the owner of the Diablo...just love the body...such a clasy vehicle...I love it.

Oh...get this, I pull up to the dealership and all I see are Ferraris, spider, 430, oh and a wicked F40...wicked vehicle. This guy loves Ferrari...well I start taking a closer look at all the vehicle he has in display and guess what I see...come on guess...okay SWIRLS!! On all off them, his entire stock had major swirls....I looked and I could not beleave the swirls on the vehicles. Well I pointed it out to the owner (the guy that I'm dealing with) and he fired the guy that he had "detailing" the vehicles. I told him the only reason I know is becuase I detail on the side and he asked if I was interested on doing some for him. All that was running through my head was..."Heck, I'll detail them for free as long as you let me take them for a spin"..hahahaha. Well who knows. I sayd yes of course but I also told him that I would detail my vehicle upon delivery so he can see the work I do. Oh yea I finally got to see an S7 Saleen.....all I can say is WOW!!...that thing is a shark and the sound of the engine in breath taking...sadly it's sold :(

Yup, I had a good Saturday ;) I had adrenalin all over my body today...that's why I'm up so late :D

Carlos, what in the world do you do for a living? I thought you were an engineer? I know they do good, but an Enzo? Man, that will be close to $1 million for that, maybe more. Whew.....apparently things are going good for you;) Good luck bro!

Yeah, $400 for a filter should be nothin'. I am glad your doing well!

dengood1 - I am an Electrical Engineer and that is one of the things that I do for a living but I also own a few businesses and so does my family, but I get the pleasure to take care of all the businesses. My dad is a big Ferrari fan too and he keeps pushing me to just get the Enzo but the funny thing is that a vehicle like that I would to convince my self to take it out for a drive on a weekend :D the Enzo for me is to have it in the middle of my living room and stare at it and keep it flaw less...or maybe as the family has dinner I'll be eating and staring at it hahahaha (wife didn't like this comment). The Enzo is not for sure, it's alot of money so for now it's just talk. The Diablo though that's not talk, hopefully all goes well and I'll be having it shortly.

Edit - Forgot to mention that even though I may have the coing $ I have to bust my rear end for it, pulling 16hrs a day and some days longer....but I always have time for detailing :D

Well $400 (or so) for a filter may not seem like much but it does add up...fast :D

So um...any takers on providing water with this system? Oh and I went over my friends car wash and he does not have a DI filter system :( bummer. There are other places that do so I'll be asking around.

Edit -

Portable DI system

Nica, check out the Water on the Go system,Google ( portable water softner) if the AG unit is too small . They have a portable softner , a single DI and what they call a Biz unit that has two DI tanks, , goint to get one soon can't wait for 700 gallons of spotfree water .Hope the info helps

Tinpan - that looks like a good system. Thank you for sharing the info, the price is much cheaper...I wonder why? I'll give them a call and chat with them. Once more thank you for the info oh and if you do purchase one please let me know what you think of it.

It would seem that the On the Go system for $299 has to have significantly less capacity than the DIW-10 for $279 at CR Spotless. CR used to have a 10 day return policy - buy one and if you don't like it send it back but I sure like mine.

DI Capacity

In my endevor to educate my self on water, i have leraned the following
Capacity is dependent on the incoming water quality ( do you know the hardness of the water you are using) this is a biggie ! Claims on thru put are just that just, a claim. Don't get mad I am not bashing anybodies products it is all a fucntion of science, no one has the magical system , it is all mechanics a trade off and always will be, just like to research the heck out of anything before I buy.In coming water determines everything ,how long the resin charge will last, final quality and the such. I have no alliance to any, just hate to spend when its in not needed .Placing a softener ahead of the DI is a push you are trading mineral content for sodium , soo the DI works just as hard. I try to look at on going cost versues initail cost, cost of recharge, ease of recharge and final product . Lots of resin coming in from the big C , quality ??? Call me cheap , but that just more AG finish goodies I can load the war wagon with. Opps gota go the the AG shipment has arrived Menzrena awaits the pad.Too frekin hot outside today well over a hun, geuss I'll buff the Fridge:cheers:

bwhwhahah, you are taking me for a ride if you get a Diablo!

My dad actually looked at a 1990 Diablo with 9000KMs and it was "reasonably priced", but my mother wasn't pleased. The sad thing is that for the price of a really cheap apartment, you could have Diablo.

EDIT: have you checked out Kulu?

EDIT2: which Bugatti are you looking at? An EB110? EB110 S? <-- I think only 5 were ever made, and I don't think anyone has a veryron.

Tinpan - I agree with you buddy, I'm doing as much re-search as I possibly can. I need to know all the ins and outs of the system before I purchase it...you know just to see if it' sworth spending the money. I appretiate the feed back.

sneek - I first went to see Kulu, nice guy but not very flexible if you know waht I mean, then I went to ZR Zahir's place and man he's got incredable vehicles. He has a Ferrari F40, amazing vehicle but he wont sell it...he just has it on display to tease people like me...that is one sweet vehicle pure, 100% racing vehicle. The Bugatti and the Enzo are just talk for now...who knows to be honest I need to give my self lots of time before I pull the triger things change all the time and owning a vehicle like that ties allot of coin. Besides, the roads here aren't all that friendly to vehicles like the Bugatti or the Enzo....but the Diablo is sweet...1991 with only 7,000KM..incredable condition. Oh if you ever go to ZR's place you will be shocked to see the amount of swirls on the supposedly show cars...it's sad...I told Zahir I would detail one of his vehicles at no cost for him to see the type of work I do..heck I'll do it at no cost regardless :D....oh yea I don't think anyone has a Veryron here in town...if they do I want to meet them.
