Folks,

I am just a hobbyist that loves detailing my cars. I have an older Porter Cable 7424, but was considering buying the Rupes LHR15ES. When browsing through the description, I came across the following:
The Rupes LHR 15ES includes a 5 inch hook and loop backing plate. Due to the machine’s large stroke, it is recommended to only use Rupes approved pads and accessories with the machine.

I do have a bunch of brand new Lake Country 5.5inch CCS Smart pads. Are these going to be compatible with the Rupes 15ES or should I be looking into buying new Rupes Pads?

Thanks!

They'll work, but the Rupes pads are so much nicer and sturdier.

No problems at all. I currently have the Rupes 15 and using LC CCS 5.5" Pads without any problems. Also, just get the Rupes if it is within your budget. I currently use my PC for smaller pads and Rupes for 5.5" pads. Saves time from changing BPs on a job.

I love mine and I'm using all my LC / CCS pads witn mine with great results, no wAy am I paying $12.99 for a buffing pad.

Other pads are fine. I've used the LC CCS 5.5 pads and the LC hybrid wool pads in addition to the Rupes pads.

Have you tried them? In this case you DO get what you pay for. It's like Microfiber Madness, once you try them it's hard to go back. The pads can be easily centered almost perfectly do to the hole in the center, making the machine even smoother and more balanced. I flip flopped between Rupes pads on half my hood, and a LC pad on the other half. No comparison.

Still not paying that price, not even at 20% off.
