i dont know about these pads, but i still prefer the flat pads over the ccs stuff....

theses self center them selfs so you dont have to be spending too much time trying
to get them in the center

Self centering pads are great until the backing plate starts cutting into the foam and spitting foam particles all over your project... I've got the chewed up pads to prove that it happens. I'll stick to my Edge pads that always self center and never fly off my backing plate.

whats the idea behind the hex shape? same thing as the ccs dimples? just to let some heat escape im assuming?

I've got to agree about the Edge pads, they are great.
