Hello. Is there a such thing as battery powered DA. I know battery life would be an issue and probably prevents these from being manufactured. Thought I would ask anyway. I had to move in an apartment with no power cord hookup. I just purchased the Griot’s Garage 4” Hand Waxing and Correcting Pad Kit to help but want a machine again.

I'm in the same shoes w/ you. My sorrow began few years back when I moved to apartment no access to power outlet to detail a car. I did my research on cordless DAs. I read "millions" of posts and find about all of them discouraging. Mostly people don't recommend using cordless drill Meguires Power System Tool or battery powered DA for anything major but waxing. I'm still itching to get one, but not certain to cash out a bit more than $100 (system tool and good quality cordless drill w battery pack) on something I will have no use for.

I actually once had the experience of having to detail a car during a power black out. I bought a cheap power inverter and hooked it up to my car's battery. I was able to polish the car using a griot's 6" DA. I had to leave the car running the whole time I was doing work so that cost me around 2 gallons of gas though. lol

A cordless polisher would be a massive advantage for mobile smart repairers, and us home enthusiasts. I do notice that an orbital one has just been launched in the UK market FYI. It's called the iVo OrbiPro. Looks pretty powerful - it's being promoted for many tasks, but looks like the power is there. Might ship to USA i don't know, as i'm in the UK I think I'm going to try.

for rotary you now have a good combo
m12 polisher/sander for tight areas and the new m18 rotary polisher, but the new 9amp battery
