Corvette Museum Sinkhole

Many years ago I owned a '63 convertible (actually a roadster because I had the hard top too) and when it was time to sell I included the standard litany "never been hit, never driven in the snow, never driven in the rain, never bblah-blah-blah".

Now people are going to have to include "never been buried in a sinkhole".

WOW this thread sure got twisted around. :-(

It is truly ashame when someone cannot simply close a post when they fail to be able to add to it in a positive manner. They add
unnessary drama versus moving on :iagree::rant:

Your right, first salvo came across the bow with someone hating Corvettes and then it was on, not sure how an M3 is "girly" either, LOL. I love Corvettes, mid-years especially and that car has styling cues from an Italian car that I can't think of for the life of me. The Corvette's "father" was an immigrant to this country and bled Corvette blood, yep, nothing more American than the Corvette, people from all over to make it an icon, let's hope sales go up and up on the C7 too or this could be the last gen!

the immigrant was from Belgium, zora arkus-duntov
Duntov is and always will be a hero in the automotive world in the US.Many thought that the Vette would not make it in the early fifty`s.Boy did he prove them wrong. His 30-30 camshaft is still talked about today let alone all his other contributions. He was considered as the modern day da Vinci in the early 50`s.You have the Rock-n-Roll hall of fame and the walk of Stars in LA, but this guy changed the face of GM and the industry that lives to this day.RIP Arkus and you were the epitimy (bad spelling) of modern day design.

From things I've read about him was a rouge but in a good way, he always believed in the Corvette and did whatever it took to make it better, sometimes doing things in secret. Wonder what he would think of today's cars?

One cool thing I remember hearing him say to someone about a Corvette SS, "all Corvettes are SS's!"
