It’s pretty funny. People act like the Korean MF textile plant is a bunch of high paid experts in the field painstakingly crafting each towel with multiple QC checks. Lol
But the Chinese and other non Korean countries are just having the towels fly off the assembly line into a pile of metal shards dust dirt and twigs then stood on before packaged with a guy that has norovirus on his hands and laughing.
Way too much thought into this. It’s just a giant ass textile factory blasting out towels finishing them however they want or are contracted to. Then selling them for a severe fraction of what all the places are charging you for them
Yes they even send out bad ones to these companies. Look at the guzzlers that were made wrong here and sold for a discount then there’s the kerpluffles and I’m sure there are many many more that just get sold as first rate towels
Find some towels you like and buy them. Nice to support here obviously but we all have in mind a different towel for our needs some just happen to not seem as elite as others

I think people don't understand the ODM ecosystem. It is explained well here:
Original design manufacturer - Wikipedia
Every country is capable of manufacturing excellent products. As stated, the iPhone is an example of a high-quality product manufactured in China. Korea has no monopoly on good or bad products, nor does China. To generalize Korea==Good, China==Bad is silly and makes no sense. Quality can vary from lot to lot in many cases, sometimes even towel to towel. There is virtually no correlation between quality and country-of-origin. Apple has proven this out. There is a correlation between costs and quality. Manufacturing efficiency, automation, robotics and labor-saving is where costs can be slashed easily without sacrificing quality if the management of the ODM is smart and methodical.
MF towels are an ODM product. No company peddling MF gets involved in the actual technical design of the MF, this is all handled by the manufacturing end which is overseas in Asia. The ODM simply presents their designs and specs to a prospective customer, a product spec and a deal is reached and branded or unbranded product shows up in a shipping container a few months later. ODMs are the invisible part of this ecosystem.
MF towels are a commodity product (vs a boutique product like the aforementioned iPhone). The wholesale price of these towels is minuscule compared to the retail price. The wholesale price variance between towels of varying consumer-perceived quality is also minuscule. You are entrusting the quality of the towel based on branding, marketing, tactile feel to your skin and a host of other irrelevant factors that are unrelated to the effectiveness of the towel to meet your requirements.
As stated, find some towels you like and buy them. If you like them then you are a happy customer. That is the goal here. It is just like buying a car. I know someone who likes old BMWs. Can't figure this out to save my life. He can afford a new one but prefers to buy an old one and sink prodigious amounts of money into them for routine maintenance and upkeep. I just shake my head but he is happy with his purchase. It makes no sense. These are not collectible BMWs (i.e. 2002 Tii, etc.), either. These are just old, unreliable cars that require a lot of upkeep. But, he is happy. More power to him.
Same story for those who are loyal to a certain brand of MF. Just don't judge others for choices they make with their own hard-earned money.
