Hello all,

Last night I was looking at my tin of 3M Paste wax #39526.
At first glance everything is fine, but when I read it carefully, there is a printing mistake in Point 1. The word is "and" instead of "abd" if you compare with Autogeek product page....

I guess 3M has been using this packaging for 39526 for quite some time, so they are not likely to change from a correct packaging to a wrong one?
Other than a little typo in first point, the tin is nicely printed/built, and the wax is doing its job fine. Gloss and slickness is better than the M26 Paste wax I have, with same smell to 3M's description I have read on their site before.

Anyone know how to verify whether a tin of wax I have is authentic or counterfeit? Call 3M dealer directly?

That is a bit strange :dunno:

WOW, that's odd indeed! I would hang on to it, if real it might be with something.

Check another can and see if it's there too.

Contact 3M and scan in the cover and email it to them and wait for a response...

Chances are it is not a counterfeit. Manufacturers do make mistakes. Theres typos in everybodyies products. For example Meguiars DC2 had typos, Poorboys paste waxes, and the WG fuzion has typos.

The letters "n" and "b" are right next to each other on a computer keyboard. Someone just hit the wrong key. It's a human error - no counterfeit.

These cans were probably manufactured and labeled in China!

I was told that there is a factory of 3M making this paste wax.
Some of raw materials are imported from USA.
Cans were made and printed in China.
They pour the wax into cans and ship the complete product around the world.

I have no idea how much $$ they can save for shipping things around the world~

Herein lies the problem.....

I am sure it is not worth anything extra. It is a can of wax

Steel for cans comes in sheets. The sheets are lithographed, then punched and folded into shape.

Does the can say "Printed in China" on the back? If not, it's US made.

It's a typo. It happens.

Hey guys,
I was told that the 3M 39526 that I own is a counterfeit.

dang...
I shall go to buy a new one from reliable source like Autogeek...

well,
if you read my first post,
the fake 3M Paste wax works very well actually...

I check it today morning, and it is holding up better than Meguiars M26 paste also.

I was told that the wax I have are counterfeit made in China.
I found it kind of weird: for someone to be able to make a fine wax that is better than M26, why are they making counterfeit products?
