1. Right now have lotta rotary buffer trails. Tomorrow anticipate eliminating most using Edge blue pad with SF4000 with rotary. What should I use for last step with DA, thinking Edge white pad with SF4500? Will that combination work?

2. Does the 2nd polish step require washing car first? Tape and today's polish splatter are still on the car. I really don't want to retape car!

Thanks
Howard

1. The white pad is a polishing pad, the blue is a finishing pad. You should be okay with either pad and SF4000. RPM, arm speed, and pressure will be very important to remove the trails. For me, that's 1200rpm, slow arm speed, and almost zero pressure. (just the weight of the machine).

2. You don't need to wash between those steps, but I would remove the splatter from your 1st step ASAP. It may not be easily removed once it dries.

Lastly, before your LSP, you need a good cleaning/wash as SF4000 or SF4500 has a little fill.

Thanks for the help. Interesting that I can go from having bunch of holograms, and remove them with a product such as 4000 with such little cut. Are holograms that shallow?

Sorry, left out that I was considering using a green pad with 4000.

I don't know what your using as your compound or medium polish, but that should remove almost all the heavy stuff.

The remaining holograms/trails are introduced by the rotary and can easily be removed; it's just tougher to remove holograms via rotary since rotaries are the machine that instills them.
