I think it is time to order new pads for my PC. My backing plate measures approx 5 3/4 inches, so I assume it is a 6 inch plate. I have LC pads right now, and the orange and black pads are concave while the yellow and white pads are flat. I haven't ordered in about 4 years or more, so I am not sure what the best replacements would be. :)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I currently use Prima products and and working on our 08 F150.

Personally I would suggest getting a new backing plate, the 4" or 5" one. And going with 5.5" pads. I use the Lake Country CCS 5.5" and love them.

The smaller pads with the PC will help you correct the paint a little more quickly due to the smaller surface area of the pad.

Thanks, I that is what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Off to price stuff now. I really need to get the rest of the water spots off of my nice black truck! They are driving me batty. :buffing:

What is the major difference in the CCS pads and the beveled edge or flat pads? Does one perform better?

Also, can I use the pads the I have now on the smaller backing plate? My grey pad is still just fine for waxes and that way I can get more of the polishing pads.

I like the flat pads but the CCS pads work well too. It's really personal preference. I think more people prefer the flat pads. I have both and use them both.

You can use the smaller backplate with your current pads but when you use it and apply pressure it will apply preside to a smaller area on the face of the pad. I think it will reduce the effectiveness. For the black pad it won't make a difference really bu with te polishing pads I oils use the larger backplate

Thanks. I am going to order a couple of each and see which I like better. :)
