CP Essence Plus drying aid / topper?

For those having streaking issues with Elixir, I bet diluting it with distilled water will help. Even CarPro recommends cutting Reload when you have dark color vehicle to reduce streaking and I bet the ingredient causing that in Elixir is Reload.

I do see some minor hazing when applying it but it generally disappears by next morning. And I use 1 spray per panel.

But the drying aid I use 90% of the time is just Ech2o diluted 1:20. Works great.

It may have something to do with the mix ratio… I make my own elixir, I get no streaking, no dusting, and easy wipe off…… my mix is as follows:

4oz/4oz ECH20/Reload and 56 ozof distilled water

Wow 5 sprays. Never heard anyone using that many. 1-2 sprays at best.

Also I tend to cycle towels during the application process whether dry or as a drying aid as the same towel will load up especially with many sprays.

Elixir is also temperature dependent. It will streak at colder temperatures much easier.

Have you tried a twisted loop towel for wipe off like the rag company FTW or griots PFM?

I haven’t had any issues with it and dust. But everyone has different circumstances.

For example one of my good friends lived 2 hours north of me and he had dusting issues with EcH20 while I didn’t.

Not 5 sprays as a default, but when test different methods I tried anything from 1 up to 5 sprays per panel. 1-2 produced best results, as you’d expect.

Tried both cool and warmer temps. Haven’t tried those towels but have tried heaps and even bought new towels specifically. I’m at the point where if my extensive testing and purchasing of new towels can’t get it to a point I’m happy with, I’ll move to another product. Will be coating with NV Evo soon anyway and have Boost for that. Could just be my particular paint.

I must confess I also made that mixture before and it was easier to use than Elixir. A lot easier to get perfect results.

Having said that, I would still pick Elixir over Reload.

Interesting they suggest diluting it. I had to do the same thing with Gyeon's Cure and it helped a lot with the streaking. That makes a lot of sense as Elixr really acts more like a booster than a traditional QD spray. I will admit I like Cure a lot more though.

I should have tried Cure before. I have a sealed bottle of it that came with my Syncro kit. But it's 3 years old and although sealed, I'm not even sure it's still good.

Try it. At worst it just won’t be as good. Some products sealed will easily last 4-5 years

That is what I've experienced. I didn't know why at that time, though. I gave my bottle to a friend who seems to like it enough to use it.
