I'm about to apply this product for the first time.
Any tips,do's/don'ts?
Can I put the car cover back on the car once I wipe the product off, or do I have to wait the 48 hour "drying time?" The car is garage kept.

Thanks!

Ron

I would leave it off during the curing time.

Don't work ahead of your self and take one panel at a time.Get a led spot light to detect high spots. If using eraser prior to coating let the eraser gas out for 30 minutes prior to coating.

My personal opinion if the car is indoor stored and isn't a daily driver, don't even cover it after cquartz. The cover is going to offer more chances to mar the finish as you put it on and remove it.

But I for sure wouldn't put it on until the full time has lapsed on curing for the coating.

If I don't cover it, the car gets very dusty in the garage.

Boy, he spent a lot of time wiping off the product!!

I would rather let it get dusty and then do a waterless wash to dust it off. But it's up to you what you'd like to do. I'm just not a fan of covers.

put qvarts after one hour put reload and dont tuch enithing....leave in garage...next 48 hours no wother noting after that no wosh 7 whit shampoon or somthig else days i am do same i do that lst summer and still is on car...after 6 month use reload again ...

My advice is put it on one panel at a time. Don't try and work too big. Also don't mess with reload after. It is not critical to the finish. Wait until after the first wash or at least until the coating is fully cured.

First off, dust never sleeps...even with a car cover. Secondly the idea behind a coating, especially CQUK, is you're going to discover something quickly. It repels dust and dirt compared to traditional wax and sealants. As noted a quick wipe down with your favorite no rinse wash and a mist of reload will get you back to normal.

I have a garage queen and was miffed after spending the time to do a coating, then put a cover-craft (over $200.00) cover on the car only to find it marred the heck out of the paint. This year, no car cover... it doesn't need it. The properties of the nano-glass particles is practically self cleaning.

I'm planning on doing Cquartz soon myself after using essence. First time for both.

Here's a copy of what was sent to me by Corey via email for application advice.

How to apply CQuartz:

1.- Wrap Suede over the gray side of the foam applicator block.
2.- Slightly shake the bottle of Cquartz.
3.- Drag one or two lines of product down the applicator.
4.- Wipe access surface in cross cross pattern. Add more product as needed.
5.- Wait between 1-5 minutes depending on temps, humidity, and paint and find the right window to wipe when your doing your first panel. Too soon and it will just be oily and no grab to it when wiping. Too late and it becomes hard and eventually impossible to remove with a dry towel. You want to remove when you feel it giving just a little push back against your towel but not hard to remove and no longer oily. If left too long it will become difficult to remove. If removed too early then it won’t have a chance to bond.

Please read more pre and post application details in my store on the product page

Best Regards,
Corey

Also, if you're planning on doing multiple coats, this is his answer.

1 hour if its cold. 45 minutes if its warm. If you wait past that then just leave it till next day and add the coat then.

Good luck!

Not to hijack but I'm planning on using Cquartz as well and was wondering do you use the same suade towel throughout the whole coating of the car ?

No, if you use the same one on the foam block it starts to get streaky on the paint. I usually use about 8 per car which I think might be too much. But they are cheap and worth using extra to prevent issues.

And the towel for removal just use until it starts to not seem to pick up the excess product.

I generally use 4 per vehicle. As mentioned above... It's easier to switch them out than be sorry. To know when to switch, you will want to watch for contamination that the cloth may pick up, or a negative change in application.

If there is a high spot, how do you remove it?

From what i understand it depends on when you find it. If you find it fast and it hasn't cured, try wiping it off with a microfiber towel. If it's already cured, you'll have to polish it off and reapply to that area.

one question if i do somting wrong whit what is best to polish or what mashine and product what use

I use this on my customer's vehicles when they opt for the option and one tip I can give you is to use CarPro Reload after the coating has cured to level out the high spots. No need to polish out those pesky areas.
