What's good everyone, got a little problem with the Cquartz UK that I put on my Crown Vic this afternoon. Before I go on I gotta say that I have never seen the blue look this deep holy!
Keep in mind the car is almost ten years old and my DD but damn does it look good!
Anyway a few hours after I applied CQUK and applied Reload, it started to haze. I have been able to buff some of it off but there are some spots that aren't coming out.
Originally I thought I had used too much product, but I have about half a bottle left and that is after doing the paint and rims, the rest of the bottle will be used in a couple days when I do the second coat and the glass after I polish the glass with CeriGlass.
To start off the temp was about 10C with sunny breaks. I did a decon with TRIX and washed with Dawn, then I gave the car a good clay just to take out any stones or crap that TRIX couldn't remove.
Then I compounded the car with Meg's UC and followed up with Meg's UP, (my two favorite combos). After the UP I hit it with 50/50 IPA, then I hit it with Eraser. Normally I wouldn't bother with both the IPA and Eraser but UP is FULL of fillers and oil so I figured I may as well make sure the car is totally free of oils, just for my peace of mind lol.
Anyway application went smooth. From what I have read is that CQUK doesn't need any time before you buff off, so I applied the product and buffed off right afterwards. An hour and a half later I applied Reload and buffed off, then I parked in the sun to help it aid in the drying process.
So first and second hour looked good; nothing was hazing and everything was clear. Third hour well not so much unfortunately. It's like when you apply a carnauba and it starts to sweat, that's the only way I can describe it.
Now keep in mind that I was able to buff most of the haze off, and just out of curiosity I wanted to see what the hydrophobic abilities were so I poured a bit of distilled water on the hood; most of it rolled off and the rest I wiped away. After I had wiped I noticed that the hazing was gone! So I'm thinking then next wash will remove the rest of the hazing. I will be using CarPro's Reset Shampoo to test it out. This is of course assuming that the hazing doesn't come back.
Should I wipe the car with Eraser and see what happens? Or will I have to remove the coating and start again?
Again FAN-FRIGGIN-TASTIC product, a little bit expensive but well worth it!
Cheers
Phil
