Hey guys. Just wanted to show off a few pics from the Super Chevy Show yesterday here in Florida. I got my 06 GTO coated with the CQUK kit I won on Friday from over on the autopia site and entered into the show on Sunday. I was in the open class that is a non chevy vehicle but chevy powered. Ended up taking 2nd place with it in the street division! Pretty shocked. The CQUK was popping in the sun and made the paint look awesome! I couldn't resist and also topped it with a coat of Pinnacle Synergy! I am sold on it as is a few of my 5th gen Camaro buddies. Looks like I will be doing some coatings this summer!:rockon

congrats and looks sweet . I've been on the fence of ordering synergy. could u elaborate on what synergy added to the cquk , and if u ever used reload , any differences between .

Honestly this was my first coating I have ever used. LOL. I had bought the Synergy about 2 weeks ago and then last Thursday I won the CQUK so I figured I would put that on as a base. Over on Autopia Todd Helme had answered some questions during his Synergy review about topping CQ with Synergy and he said it shouldn't be a problem. I figured I had it so I might as well try it as a topper (and I love to wax!). Did it add a little pop to the car? Can't be certain, but it didn't make it worse. LOL! Didn't use the reload as I know there was non chance of the car getting wet within the next 48-72hrs of the coating being applied.

Congrats buddy! All that hard work paid off!

Congrats! Nice car, i love the sound of those!

Paint is popping as well, love the wheels!

Congrats man! Looks good! But I gotta ask, what'd ya lose to!? haha

Thank you. Yeah the wheels are starting to grow on me. They do flow well with the car.

Haha. A very nice 700hp 2dr pearl white CTS-V. I did talk with the judges and there were really judging on cleanliness which was nice. Not just how much money you have into it. I will take 2nd with my 13k$ GTO vs that 80k+ CTS-V.

Not trying to be rude, just realistic, but yeah, maybe impressive to some, but I can get the exact same beading, and sheeting from a bottle of Meg's #26 that has sat on wally world's shelf for the past 4 years.

You can take Collinite #476, and still see beading and sheeting like that 9 months later. Nope, I'm not talking about watching somebody else's video with such products, I'm talking about personal use, and my own experiences doing other's vehicles with Collinite #476.

I know many talk about #845, but Super Doublecoat is truly the gem in the entire Collinite line up.

Good for you! I too like 476s but you can beat the all the other benefits of a coating.

Agreed you might say, but, "are all coatings equal"?

I now have CQ UK in hand, and will try it soon. Have tried DP Coating, and in some ways, I am not that impressed. Especially for its asking price.

As others have noted, the beading of DP was lackluster, and I noted the same. Colly #476 will shame it for this quality. As for longevity, and scratch resistance, again, I'm not so sure DP Coating would come out a winner. My Kia was looking like ass a short while after coating with the DP. Why? Maybe I wasn't using the special soap, and special this, or special that after? If so, then in reality, just how superior is this coating? It then isn't in my eyes.

Bang for the buck? There's absolutely no doubt there, one can of #476 will easily surpass what one 4oz bottle of the DP Coating can do. Either on one vehicle, or an armada of them.

i dont believe they are equal. I wouldn't call the "spray" coatings a coating.. just me though.

I went with 22ple vx1 pro

Cool. There are so many coatings coming to market now its hard to keep up with them.

I mainly did the CQUK for 2 reasons.

1. It was no cost to me as it was a prize.

2. I figured it would be a great topper as I had just wet sanded and buffed the whole car. It seems to add a little bit of marring resistance which is a great selling point considering this is my daily driver.

I figure CQuartz is one of the bigger names and that it would be a great product. So far it's doing everything it said it would. Me being me and not being able to leave things alone I do a coat of Synergy or Victoria Concours Red wax after a thorough washing.
