Hey folks,

i've polished and coated my car 2-3 months ago and did all the prep to coat the car.

so after i had coated the car i had applied the coating and reload. after a week or so i noticed that i had alot of reload streaks that i couldn't get off anymore due to application in hot weather so i had to get it off with Essence Plus and a CarPro Gloss Pad.

now after 2 weeks or so after the essence plus i noticed that the beading was dropping on my roof and bonnet. So i sprayed some reload on there buffed it on and got it off with a damp MF towel and still i can't see any increase in water beading.

Any suggestions?

if this helps i wash my car with
Meguiar's D11101 Shampoo Plus and use AutoBrite Magi Foam for my prewash.

Thanks! and have a nice day :)

Wash with CarPro reset or Meg's HyperWash. Or if you want to continuously see beads, use CarPro Hydrofoam.

The shampoos you using are the culprit. Use Reset from now on end.

Essence Plus on top of CQUK significantly and permanently reduced the tight beading of CQUK on my paint.

As they others says switch your schampo to carpro reset wich does not contain any wax polymer or glossenhancer. And are maid for carpros cquarts coatings. Do you think you have any waterspots and mineraldeposits from hardwater that have come from water drying after washing the car or from sprinklersystem? Either way you may be benefit from testing carpro Spotless on a small area on your car. That Will break down waterspots and that can make your cquarts uk start beading again as it did in the beginning. It is the most common problem with ceramic coatings that mineral deposits get stuck in the coating and degrade its performance over time. In your case it will have the benefit of even take away the sealants from the schampo and reload and not break down your cquarts uk. It contains acid so read instructions carefull and wear the protective gear as recommended. Anyone else with ceramic coatings can benefit from useing waterspotremoval from time to time when they feel its loosing its performance. Just make sure that the product is gentle enough as Spotless is so it doesnt take away your ceramic coating.
Hope you can understand my english as it is not my first language.
Best regards Tony!

I would wash with CarPro Reset and top with reload and see how it performs going forward. If for some reason that doesn't work out, I would just hit it quickly with CarPro Essence on a white pad and then re-coat it. Not perhaps what you want to hear, but it really shouldn't take long if you've already corrected it.

How long did you leave essence plus on the paint? I ask because I too mentioned this on the carpro forum and Corey mentioned that it should be left longer like when applying a wax. He also mentioned this on one of the obsessed garage videos.

D111 shampoo plus contains gloss enhancers like gold class so that can mask the properties of an LSP. Reset would be a better choice.

I read that the streaks in reload will gradually fade away or that a strong wash with reset can minimize them.

Thank you all for replying, will definitly try it out and let you guys know.

I applied essence with machine wich took like 1h30m and then i left the car sit in the garage for an hour prior to buffing it off. after buffing it off i did not wash it for 2-3 days and let it sit outside in the sun :).

I'll purchase reset and let u guys know how it does.

Thank you

Reset is a good soap, but it can be very expensive compared to others. Just look around for a wash with little to no polymers. I believe hyper wash is good, def a few others out there for a better price. Unless you do not mind of course.

CarPro Reset Intensive Car Shampoo

Less than $1 per wash is expensive?

If you were to wash your car twice a month you'd be looking at $2 per month... If you decide on washing weekly, you might have to make significant sacrifices in other areas of your life, because it'll cost you a whopping $4 per month to wash your car!

I know, it's crazy... But just get some anyways. Who cares if the kids go without meals every now and then.

Btw, just now in another forum I saw someone talking about how they happily paid $8 each for 1 of these simple microfiber applicators that can be found @HF for $1. Now that's legit crazy! Lol.

For Reload if you want to make application even more simple you can use a little bit of Echo and Reload together and there will be no streaks at all. Just spray one spray of Echo on your application towel and one or two sprays of Reload on the towel then apply as directed. You'll notice the product will flash clear and be super easy to buff off. I've heard some people have mixed a bottle of Echo/Reload together which I guess would work just as well too.

Hey

Went out and bought reset, first thing i noticed is how little you have to use to get it sudsy and it smells good too imo.

After washing i noticed that the beading reduced even more. heres a clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJDrMzB7Jtk

Also found out that my drivers & passenger side doors are severely micro marred. the rest of the car is not, i had this problem earlier this year before using CQUK and i didnt notice any of this towel marring untill i used reset. so i'm thinking the coating is no longer present on these areas.

i've just put some essence plus on there to hide the marring and ill probly re-polish my car next summer with a yellow rupes pad and sf3500.

thank you all.

Kodakdave,

I think most likely Reset exposed scratches that were there rather than creating them. I'm wondering if the other side of your car looks the same but the scratches are being masked by a another product like a spray was or a gloss enhancing wash product. I doubt the Cquartz is gone on those panels. Without some abrasive it shouldn't be gone any sooner than from other areas of the car. If you're thinking Reset removed the coating, that's unlikely.

If the rest of the car doesn't have scratches that are being masked, maybe you didn't use enough wash product? You mentioned how little you needed. Suds are not the indication of enough product. How did you wash it with reset (mitt, microfiber, old t-shirt)? How did you dry it?

Others will probably have some better ideas on what happened here.

You do bring up one of the issues I have with coatings: they scratch and collect contamination like paint but have fewer options for correction.

hey,

I used the gyeon woolmitt, i used like 50ml of product into my CG bucket with Grit guard and prewashed it with foam cannon.

I dried it with 1 big mf blue fluffer and smaller a red fluffer mf towel .

both sides of the doors are micro marred the rest of the car is swirl free... maybe one of the towels was contaminated?

thanks

I meant to mention in my first post that this sucks for you and I get why you would be frustrated. It sounds like you know what you're doing and to have your coating all scratched up is not pleasant. 50ml into 5 gals sounds like plenty of product, so that's not the issue.

If you did the whole car with essence plus wouldn't that basically remove the original coating?
