So, I was driving to work and finally out of the blue decided a deserved to buy myself a CR Spotless on my IPhone. So, that's just what I did. I bought it directly from CR, its a model they don't sell at AG
I picked that model because I didn't plan on rolling it around or mounting it on a wall, but using it primarily between the hose and the pressure washer. Based on the TDS of the water at my home (about 200 ppm) I should get about 100 gallons of DI water from each "batch" of resin.
So, I'm thinking if I can get 10 washes out of each "batch", that's $4.5 a wash, or 10 gallons of DI water per wash. That sounds like a lot, but that's less than what it costs me to use the pay-n-spray when the sun is out (bays have shade their). I also figured 10 gallons of DI water is 7.5 strait minutes of spraying with my pressure washer (1.3 gpm).
Budgeting for 7.5 mins of spray time a wash, I'm plan morning on using it only for the final rinse, although I'm convinced some glass water spots occur on my SUV actually during the wash, as I dry the glass first.
But, mainly why I bought this thing was to be able to foam and pre-pressure wash prior to doing a rinseless wash during the summer days. The process would be:
1. Clean wheels, wells, running boards, and mud flaps using regular water first not getting the car wet.
2. Foam car with regular water and soap using a pressure washer
3. Rinse off foam with regular water, then switch to DI water for several minutes to flush off all the regular water.
4. Do a rinseless wash (DI water) outside in the summer and not have to worry about water spots from the previous rinse-off.
Does anyone who has one of these things use it like this? How does it work out? Any tips or tricks anyone want to share on how to use it or extend the resin?
TIA!
