I only use my CR Spotless to do the rinse. I would guess I use about 5-7 gallons to get a thorough rinse that won't spot when left to dry on it's on.
If I use water from the outside faucet that has good water pressure the TDS is over 500. So I use my the faucet in garage sink which is softened water and is only around 200 TDS, but has weak water pressure and takes longer to get a decent rinse. I don't really know, it might take me just as much water even if the water pressure was higher.
For the cost of replacement resin I think it would most people would opt to just use the CR Spotless for the rinse anyway.
