I watched a news clip of the lawyer who handles BIG lotto winners and they took the guy to a private jet and when it landed he was greeted by armed guards by the lottery and that's a bit unnerving to meFor the rest of your life you need security detail? Yeah you can afford it, along with anything else, but you've lost your freedom in a sense, crazy

That money can buy some health, like a trainer, a chef and mental health like no bills but would be balanced out by other concerns...like saying NO and needing to move away and be in the witness protection program

It's my understanding that you DON'T sign the ticket, lock it in a safe and see a lawyer. If you don't sign it then the lottery has no right to disclose who you are and the lawyer can set up a trust. Then it stays all under the radar until you tell someone with loose lips you won.
 
Based on what Mega is now, you'd walk away, after taxes, with about 315 million dollars! After my daughters are taken care of for life, immediate family is as well, 2 charities (St. Jude/Council for the Blind) I will become a recluse in E. Tenn and left alone with my cars and garage with loft

A chef to shop, keep me healthy and make me eat my vegetables, a house with more than 1 bathroom, large garage, temperate climate and about $500k yearly salary for my remaining days. And VERY PUBLICLY give away the rest.

I'd imagine winning that much could be a real PITA in many ways.

No doubt. A blessing to win, but then you deal with a whole new set of problems.

Eastern TN for me, too. For part of the year anyway.

Cars and guns are the only thing I'd blow money on.
 
I would take enough to be comfortable and have some real fun, but the rest would go towards children's hospitals, animal shelters, etc.

If only the people who DO have this much money thought this way even a little......... :dunno:
 
1 winner in the PB last night from MD. MM is close to a Billion for Friday.
 
And MM won Friday in MI. Finally can stop playing both.
 
The Mega Millions ticket was bought in Novi....we have a Novi member or two here. Hope they won!
 
I would disappear to somewhere warm ,,either the tropics or the Mediterranean although I may summer in western Montana
