When Michael first contacted me, he made it no secret that his bonnet was a mess, and boy oh boy, he wasn't kidding when he said that. He informed me that the car had been standing for a few months, and that he would like to get it sorted out before their Alfa breakfast run that takes place this coming Saturday ( 21 March ). After a few emails we finally set a date to do the detail. Michael arrived the night before to drop the car off with me. It was quite dark, but the damage on the bonnet and buffer trails on the roof was clearly visible. The following morning I had a better look at the car and this was the damage I had to deal with

Roof
The roof had been sprayed gloss black and seems like the people who did the job knew jacksh#t about polishing
The interior had been dealt with first thing in the morning. Unfortunately no before or afters of the interior, but it was clean to start off with. Certainly made my job alot easier here !! Did the normal vacuum, compressed air blowout, apc wipedown, leather clean and condition with a final vacuum at the end. Next up was the engine bay. Michael asked me to not touch the bay with water as Alfa's are very sensitive when it comes to the engine bay. I decided on a compressed air blowout, damp cloth wipedown and then all the plastics had been treated.

Next up was a wheel clean. Arches and tires had been cleaned, then the rims and barrels had been cleaned using various brushes and VP Bilberry wheel cleaner, HP washer. The tires and plastics had been dressed later on.

Only noticed afterwards that I used 2 different wheels for the photos
Next up the car was washed, method used here was VP pre-wash, foamed with Maxi-Suds and then a 2BM wash. Vehicle was decontaminated using Iron-X, ObliTARate and Medium Grade clay bar. The contamination was minimal tbh. Next up was paint correction, after test spots on the bonnet I settled with Menz PF2500 on orange cutting pads to do the job

Here is the test spot on the roof. Seemed like the colour has faded a little, the right is unpolished vs the left which has been polished

After this small test spot I saw alot of colour gave off onto my pads, so I assumed no clearcoat on the roof. My aim for the roof then changed to remove the buffer trails and bring the colour back to life only. NO intensive cutting was done for swirl removal
The car was completed and for LSP I decided to give my newly purchased Collonite #845 a try. Application with machine was easy enough, left to haze and buffed off with a MF towel. Not as easy to remove as PL but wasn't a trick to remove. Very happy with the new LSP
Finally the car was done, plastics and rubbers had been treated, glass had been cleaned, wheels had been dressed etc. I took the car out into the street and this was the result of a hard days work

Thanx for watching. Feedback/comments welcome :hi:
