CSL or Cosmic V2

Have not tried any coatings / sealants, what order would this trio be applied and what time between different toppings? Sorry if this is a dumb question, still learning.

Did you get the kit with Cosmic v2? The Invicible Primer is the primer that get you that last finish. I would consider to ad that if you didnt get the kit.

I will be apply Esclate Lotion primer and Master Sealant and topp it up with High Gloss after a while. Have it at home since the christmas sale and waiting for the wheather allows me to do it. The garage is unheated and now it's snowing again here in Sweden. But a couple of weeks more and hope it's been warm enough to do this.

Looking forward to what you think about Polish Angel.

Yes and Essence being a primer Sio2 finishing polish too will also be tested as a base.

Apparently all 3 are long lasting lsp’s and are primarily designed to be used individually or standalone. But because their chemical makeup is roughly the same Sio2,Tio2 and refined pure carnauba flake they can be topped over Cosmic V2 or over each other. Thats what makes it so much fun as its the only coating with complete synergy to its sealants and waxes so you can top it to change the look or leave it alone if you like. This is like Lego for Detailers :)

I think the idea behind PA is primarily ocd car guys, you can protect your car and are willing to spend a pretty penny, as well as well as something so you can constantly touch your car.

Well said.

I couldn't be further from that when it comes to my fleet of daily drivers. I bet I wash my Rogue some where between 8-10 x's a year, 12 max. My garage queen purchased in April 2014 has 10,500ish miles on it so it doens't get any degradation of lsp's so only an occasional reapplication. I like the PA products because they are easy to apply and in my experience give me the longevity I need and the looks are second to none imho. When used applied properly (a little goes along way) the in use cost or per application cost is reasonable and worth it for me.

I think that statement applies to any brand of care care product. Regardless of monetary investment, it's always a choice to maintain one's vehicle whether it's with Armorall, Polish Angel or whatever. Value is in the eye of the purchaser. It's all subjective anyways.

I remember when I thought a $23 jar of paste wax at Wal-Mart was worth 'a pretty penny'.

I think what differentiates Polish Angel from every other detailing brand is that they the only ones who have successfully blended Sio2, Tio2 with Carnauba to have the protection and candy look of a coating with the warmth, depth and wetness that only a carnauba can give. Its like having all the best ingredients mixed in to all their products.

Well the the reason I say that is because something like HD speed seems to have been made more for production detailers, meguiars develop a lot of their products for professional use. A lot of other manufacturers are built like that ad well where as PAs products seem more geared towards boutique detailing.

What kind of durability did you get with Carnaubaflockencreme guys? I was going to use 2 coats and top with rapidwaxx every 2-3 mths.

No experience with the cremes, will try Famous at some point. Your plan sounds legit though. If you don’t have Carnauba Arts, Rapidwaxx is the next best thing.

I bought a 500ml bottle of rapidwaxx so i want to use it up. Its hard but i'm committed to using up my products before i try something else and rapidwaxx still looks great.

Creme should actually be quite durable. It has a strong enough solvent in it that's basically acts like paint thinner. Carnauba always worries me in a product when it comes to durability.

This is the one (multiple colors) I was telling you about. It is supposed to be durable but I haven’t heard any daily driver stories yet. If it could last 4-5 months that would be a great product because I have no doubt it looks amazing.

Yep, totally understand. I wasn’t suggesting you buy the Arts, just letting you know in case you did already own some. Rapidwaxx has a very smooth, pleasing look.

I agree that CSL doesn't do much for looks. I had it and Sonax PNS on adjacent newly polished black panels and there was no discernable difference in saturation or depth, maybe a slight hint more surface gloss under a spot light. Haven't used PA due to price/longevity, but I don't think CSL is worth it for looks. Gloss reading tests generally show that primary coatings aren't as glossy as less durable SiO2 or other toppers. They can add saturation to marred panels, but no one wants to put a coating on without first correcting and polishing.

I believe others who say PA and the Japanese K brand stuff have noticeably better looks than more mainstream coating/SiO2 products.

I'm not a longtime detailer but cosmic V2 topped with high gloss looks great! A few of my friends and neighbors commented on it without any mention of my car from me.

Compliments from regular earthlings can be the ultimate “justifier” for a car looking great. My wife told me that a guy with his family passing us at very slow speed “stared shamelessly” yesterday at the park. Regardless of what my own eyes see, it’s nice to see others appreciate your quest for marvelous paint.
