Current storm..

Some brief downpour here and there, nothing heavy like you folks have to deal with. You gents & ladies be safe out there.

For the first time ever i'm happy that i am in Chicago and not where you all are.

Ironic that Chicago isn't drowning snow. I picked up a set of Continetal DWS06 tires and was thwarted by 2.5" Wednesday.

I could've made it to the top had I not stopped in the middle. The far side has a blind hill with a stop, so I wouldnt have made it much further anyways. Mustangs aren't exactly made for snow.

HOLY CRAP!! We got hammered. Got out at work at 10pm. It started here around 3pm. It's still snowing. I cant even guess how much so far. Took a friend to work since his car broke down. Trip home was BAD. People with cars were getting stuck in the lot! Trip home took 1.5 hours. Usually takes 45 min. I was shocked to see they did mot even touch the roads!! The hi way and roads up here at home were not even treated or plowed! One thing i can attest, the XTERRA is a tank. Never slipped or gave me doubts at any time. Glad TO BE HOME!

Be safe 'back there'!

Seeing the temperatures, be careful shoveling that stuff. Looks really wet and heavy. That's called 'heart attack snow'.

Bill

Be careful for everyone that lives in the northeast and Midwest.

hew... this storm is badddd

I headed home one hour after started snowing and I spun on high way couple times and almost ran into a truck...

and I was going 35mph like most of people.

looks like snow plowers are having trouble keeping up the work lol

New totals are in. 20"+ Just did the first round of snow removal.

We have 14" here already.... Used a measuring stick. Husband already plowed the driveway and there's already another 2 inches on it.

We actually went out to dinner after the snow started last night (doing dinner when it snows is kind of our thing). Took the Escape. It did very well. A bit of a learning curve with the AWD (I've always had traditional 4WD) but no big deal.

Good luck everyone with snow removal. And if you have to go out be safe :xyxthumbs:

Still another 12 hours of snow to come. The 2 Audis will probably drive right out. My car probably not.

14 inches here and more on the way. Feel like this won't melt till May :(

Man, that picture brings back bad memories. Too many years dealing with that white crap. Have to dig out your car, just to go to work. Can honestly say that I don't miss it one bit. Currently here it's 55* & windy. No snow in the forecast because it doesn't snow in central Florida.

Prolly close to 2 feet here now in Limerick PA. Just for Lolz, I cleaned off the Pathfinder and went driving around. Nothing open but Giant and Wawa. Saw some FWD cars abandoned on the side of the road. Pathfinder had no problems whatsoever.

Stocked up on a bunch of high fat food. Gonna see if Friday's frozen wings are any good in a few mins. Also picked up some DiBruno Bros chianti & provolone cheese, a Frascetta pizza, frozen Stouffer's lasagna & their Mac n cheese, ramen, some Chef Boy Ardee, and a can of Copenhagen long cut.

Yay for me.

Yesterday, less than 24 hours ago, predicted 6-12 and a Winter Storm Warning for us. Last night it was kicked up 8-14with a Blizzard Warning. This morning 12-18 inches at 7 a.m. Now at 24-30 inches with locally higher amounts.
We are at 16 inches with more to come.

Just took this 5 min ago...
Already cleared the vehicles and driveway once already.

WOW! Same here. Did the grocery shopping. Hill & stores were dead. Still bad out.

Glyndon, MD here...measured 36 inches a bit ago and no signs of relenting anytime soon.

And here, in Brazil, we are melting at 95F. The sun sinks its teeth through your skin, as it there is no ozone layer left. Wish I had some snow

Everything seems closed around here.
