So at the beginning of the year I got on board to help with a project for the upcoming World of Wheels show here in Boston. You can see the original thread about the orange peel removal while the car was a shell.

Over the past few months he has been hard at work assembling the whole car. From custom air ride, stereo, full interior, engine etc. This little vw has come a long way!

Fast forward to last night. It was finally time to do the final polishing and coating.

The car had some dust and minor overspray which was handled with Mckees 37 N914 and my Nanoskin medium grade prep pad.

Then a final polishing using my G21, BOSS correcting cream and a orange pad. Along with my Rupes Nano ibrid.

Prep wipe was handled with Mckees N914 mixed up to prep spray 1:8 dilution.

For a coating we went with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and EXO V3 combo. This Lexus color looks awesome in person. It's going to show very well I think.

Onto the finished pictures.

That car looks excellent, great job.

I'm hoping to make it to the world of wheels, if I do I'll be sure to check out this ride. Can't wait for better weather and car shows outdoors!

Justin! That is amazing! Super cool car and an excellent job! Looks great!

WOW! You got that paint looking Wet. Love the color combo. Do you have any interior and engine pics?

Agreed, agreed, & . . . agreed. :xyxthumbs:

Beautiful workmanship on this Bug Justin, like Don said - the paint really does look wet, deeply wet. Stunning!

My heart flutters every time I see a slammed early bug. Just something about that look!

The car looks incredible!! I love that color.

This color works well on this car. It's a factory Lexus color.

The bug got brought into the show yesterday afternoon. Ended up getting a great spot near the entrance and the Town Fair Tire booth.

Great work!

Not only that, but that is one hot lookin' Bug. Any info on the mods that have been done?

Well done. Phil

Thanks.

The air ride system was completely fabbed up from scratch. No one makes a true 4 corner air ride system for these cars. He custom fabbed the whole stereo from scratch. And the whole car can be controlled from a tablet mounted in the center! Air ride, stereo, lighting and even ignition I believe.

The engine has a few goodies along with a custom prostreet transmission. And it's all rolling on real BBS wheels. I am sure there a lot more. Like the one year only rear engine lid.

Thanx!

Ya just don't see a really 'modded' VW that much nowadays...STILL have a soft spot for em.
