So, a regular customer spilled a small amount of.gas in thier trunk. It's lined with that thin felt like material. I'm wondering what you all would suggest for cleaning as well as getting the smell out.

Take the liner out and scrub with apc and blast the heck out of it with a pressure washer. Then clean the trunk floor. This can be a tough one depending on how much fuel spilled good luck.

I had this happen, transporting gasoline for the lawnmower. One thing that helped was ground coffee, you can vacuum it up later.

Mostly though it's time, leave the car outside with the trunk lid open, day after day. All those odor eaters, just work for a little while. So again it's time & open the trunk.

Gasoline an organic chemical, forms strong bonds, with fibers & trunk liners. And only slowly release the bond, eliminating the smell.

After awhile be sure to replace the cabin filter, gasoline fumes will bond with the filter perpetuating the odor.

Meguiars odor remover works well, I've used it with good results...
