D114 or Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine?

@FUNX650,

First off, I love Megs D114 and highly recommend.

Now that the question has been answered, may I dare high-jack the thread with a D114 question?

My LSP is usually Pinnacle Chrystal Mist, but sometimes my LSP may be Pinnacle Liquid Souveran.

Can I use D114 on my car that has already had LSP applied? Will I be removing it with the D114? After all the motto is It Leaves Nothing Behind...
No it won't remove it. It leaves nothing behind that wasn't already in the paint (LSP wise) but as long as you stay in the 1:256 to 1:128 dilution range you'll be perfectly fine.

My thoughts on the above:
-Pinnacle Crystal Mist...an LSP?
-Isn't it formulated to be a Detail Spray?

@FUNX650,

Will I be removing it with the D114?
Depends on the "strength" of D114's dilution ratio.

@FUNX650,
After all the motto is It Leaves Nothing Behind...
Once again...
Depending on the "strength" of D114's dilution ratio:

It's motto could also be:
"It Takes Nothing Away" :)

My thoughts are once I touches the paint with anything example:
Wash media or wipe with microfiber etc. I degrade my LSP by little.
How many? I don't know :D

Meguiar's D114:
It's been stated by Meguiar's that this
product: doesn't leave anything behind.

Bob, I think you've stumbled on to a nice detailing riddle:

What leaves nothing behind, but takes nothing away?

I'm looking for a versatile rinseless I could also use as a QD and clay lube. I plan on also using it to wash the bugs off the front end every couple days between its weekly wash and D156 wipe down.

D114 doesn't work as a clay lube. I've tried - it's really "filmy" and the clay doesn't bite like it should. It's hard to describe, but you'll see what I mean if you try it.

Really? Many have said it can be used as a clay lube. I haven't tried it.
What was your dilution? In a garage out of sunlight?

I think I was using 0.5 oz per quart?

Maybe that's why it felt "filmy". My understanding of D114 as a clay lube is 1:256 - 1/2 of an ounce per gallon. You are using it at 4X strength.
