D155 Over Cquartz UK

Lol haha, showing off that vibrant personality I see

I don't understand what you are trying to say in the first part. He is responsible for the manufacturer's instructions? Or he isn't? (If he is, then him contradicting them doesn't make much sense).

I can not deny or confirm Avi knows best, as I've never spoken with him. But what you quoted goes against what the rest of the company is saying online. I'll believe the whole before the single person.

So come application time, I have to pick a side, and I'm going with the side that has a lot more people (and online presence) vouching for it - which is use it with Reload. One post from one person doesn't outweigh all the research I have done. (Even if that person is from CarPro, I have various other CarPro sources that say to use Reload). During my conversation with Corey he said (paraphrasing) you don't have to use Reload with CQUK if you don't want to (makes sense since you can also wash your car with sand if you want to ), but Corey said to prolong the life of the coating and help it maintain its properties, use Reload. Corey absolutely recommended it at 1 hour after application and he said to reapply ever 3-4 months. Corey also confirmed what I found in my research, which is CQUK is meant to be used in conjunction with Reload. Thus, it is on the manufacturer's instructions.

So I say again: you can't argue with manufacturer's instructions. After all, the company knows their product best.

Taking into account everything I have learned and discovered in my research, I've come to the conclusion that CQUK with Reload is optimal. No matter how many colors, bold, or even the coveted italic text ( :xyxthumbs:), you will not convince me otherwise.
•I do understand. ^^^

•But please understand that:
-Avi is (incarnate) the Company known as CarPro.
-I'm not alone in my belief of not "topping" Coatings.

Thanks for the lively discussion! :props:

Just wanted to add I definitely agree with your belief of not topping coatings. For that reason I almost didn't buy CQUK. But when I found out CQUK is intended to work with Reload (only), I realized its not the same "topping a coating" as putting C845 on top of CQ for example, since CQUK and Reload work together. But yea, the side who votes to just use CQUK w/o Reload is definitely there, and at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference! When I apply it, maybe I will only use Reload on half my roof to compare. Hmm..something for me to think about.

Yessir, Bob! I enjoyed it! Now time to get some sleep!!! :dblthumb2:

I have CQuartz Finest and other coatings installed on my wife's DD for durability testing. Over the last 1.5 years I've used Reload as a topper while drying the vehicle. Here are my thoughts:

Reload, quite literally, "reloads" the glossy and slick characteristics of the underlying coating as if the coating were freshly applied.

Reload has similar hydrophobic properties to that of CQuartz and therefor is a preferable topper as opposed to some sort of spray wax or traditional polymer sealant.

I've used Meg's D156 as a topper as well and it also accomplished similar results; however, the slickness did not last for as many washes compared to Reload.

IMO it is not necessary to ever top a coating. A primary function and benefit of a coating is it's long lasting protection and durability. With that being said most of us have a level of perfection we're satisfied with maintaining on our personal vehicles. For some of us that means something that feels "perfectly smooth" as well as looking great. Even though you may never touch your vehicle other than when you wash it... the slickness that's added by regularly topping your coated paint is a feeling I thoroughly enjoy and intent to promote with further "top of coating" maintenance.

I appreciate all the healthy conversation, d156 is the xpress was and d155 is the qd, i am inquiring about the d155? I used reload after the truk sat in a garage for 48hrs. I tried at about an hr and it was hazing up. Either using too much or too soon. Yesterday at the 48 hr mark it was ok.

But how long since application? I would expect the one that followed the manufacturers instructions to last longer than one that didn't. But it may take 2 years to see it!

One was done at the at the beginning of summer 2013 and the others were all done in the fall. I can tell you that the one just I just took care of went over 6500 miles in one of our nasty New England winters without reload and came out unscathed!
