Hello all,

I finally picked up some D156 for use as my drying aid to reduce any drying induced marring and some added protection.

Question: How do I use it? Just mist the panel and the damp towel and wipe?

OR

Use it like Ammo Hydrate with just 2 sprays on a damp towel and wipe?

I am using it as a drying aid (i.e. semi wet car) and not as a spray wax.

Thank you :D

Mist the panel sparingly. Don't put too much. Then wipe. WW drying towels work best.

Do you ever have any problem with your drying towels becoming water repellent? Or does the D156 just wash out?

I had this problem and my WW towels stopped absorbing water after using UQW and UQD a few times.

So I purchased Purple Plush Towels for this purpose(QD/Spray wax)...and downgraded my affected waffle weaves to door jamb duty.

Also purchased a new 3 pack of WW towels for drying.

Damn, I just purchased a few purple plush towels for this purpose during the last sale as every one raves about them for spray wax/qd purposes :dunno::dunno:

:bump:

Edit - Do you follow the d156 damp towel with a dry towel to eliminate streaks?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a drying aid as I am introducing a dry towel onto the paint?

Just trying to avoid any towel induced marring :P

Just use a ww towel like Silverfox recommended and you won't need a dry towel for a second wipe.

Wash your drying towels (waffle weave or mf) after use when using a drying aid.

No you dont. D156 dries streak free even in direct sunlight.

I used to straight wash my towels and I could still smell the product in the towels which means it wasnt completely gone. Ever since then I use my towels and throw them all in a bucket with BLACKFIRE Advanced Pad Cleaner & Restorer.

After a few days of soaking I throw em in the washer and no more smell.

PS- I only use 1/2 scoop with 3 gallons of water and it works well.

No its not going to remove your existing layer of wax, it's going to boost and pro long any protection you have.

Also wet your rag and ring it out till it's damp.

Spray it on the panel and wipe.

You can't over spray too much, the stuff is great and doesn't really streak wet or dry.

So be friendly on the panels.

I have been reading nothing but praise for this item. Ready to order a gallon and go to town. This would be my drying aid.

I use D156 when drying from a rinseless wash or regular wash. Mist the wet panel and I follow up with an eagle edgeless microfiber which leaves the surface silky smooth with tons of gloss.

D156 will boost the protection on your vehicle as you are "topping" whatever protection is there in the first place. I got through around 1 gallon every 6-8 months since I use it after every wash!

If you are not ready for the full gallon you can pick up some Meguiar's ultimate quik wax locally. Same product other than the scent.
